Why in trade do you post "offer"
" No, that is how scamming works. You offered 2 exalts for shavronne's because you're a scumbag. His counter offer is going to be 20 exalts probably, and then you will try to meet him half way and obviously it's a waste of time for the seller because you clearly have no intent to pay the market value. I always turn on filter "Only with buyout specified" on poexyz. Problem solved

" Sellers who cant even bother to but a minimum price deserve every single "lowball" they get. "An it harm none, do what you will"

If its a high value item, it makes sense as the value is harder to determine.
Not so for low value items as its all about the turnover. Last edited by whatthehelll#0391 on Jun 6, 2013, 3:59:20 AM

" I dont understand why putting a price first (for the seller) is considered as putting himself at a disadvantage. Its not like you have to deal with overhead costs, staff wages, taxes and whatnot. Any price you put is at 100% profit margin. Think about that... |

" LOL @ this guy calling me a scumbag for offering when the seller asked for an "offer", the guy was lucky/you that I didnt offer 1 chaos. Also Mods/Devs, please take this guys insult towards me into consideration when you eventually put his account on probation, thanks. |

Lol? Act like one, get called one...
You know it's not worth 2 exalt...you're very aware that it's worth around 15+ exalts. You bid 2 exalts, hoping the guy was a noob. You not only take advantage of a possible beginner that got lucky with a drop, but you also waste the time of the sellers that know what it's worth. You're like, everything that's wrong with traders. The only way you're actually going to get a sale at that price is if the guy is a beginner...otherwise he will never sell. So, why do you try? Is it because you're really preying on beginners? " I don't think you understand what bartering is. If you know that a Shavronnes is worth 20+ exalts, but post "offer" it means that you are trying to get more than what it's worth, which means that you could also be accused of scamming. You are hoping someone will overpay, whilst I am hoping that someone will underpay or counter offer with a fair deal. You resorted to name calling, I didn't. You are not coming from any sort of moral high ground. |

I don't know the value's of objects.
Nope. I really don't. I'm a self found player and rarely interact with the community. If I was left to guess... I'd say a Kaom's is worth 10 exalts, and a shavronnes is worth 6-7 exalts. Am I a low-baller for not understanding your prices, or just uneducated? Many sellers refuse to do business with me when I ask them how much they want for their gear... and their response is "offer". I give them an offer: what It is worth to me, and they don't like the offer given. Is it my fault for not knowing the prices of gear when it's so difficult to feel out this stuff? I'll never properly guess the value of gear. When I was playing Diablo 3 I was frequently surprised when my 500,000 gold amulet wound up being worth 3-4 mil. The same happens here quite often. |

" No, I'm hoping that there are multiple people (which I'm sure there will be, for Shavronne's) that will bid between each other. It's not the same thing as hoping that one person will overpay. |
