THUNDERFIST and static blows question

Can the Thunderfist gloves make a physical/fire damage build work with Static blows and shock damage?

Specifically, can Thunderfist damage alone be enough to trigger shock?

More specifically, can a pure physical/fire build (Rain of Arrows + Lioneye's + Blackgleam) be able to trigger Static Blows by equipping Thunderfist?

Even more specifically, does the 1-100 added lightning damage from Thunderfist enable Static Blows?

EDIT
==========================================

This thread is getting more interesting, not even mentioning the drama.
Updated question:

I read on some wiki about shock that crit chance helps guarantee shock status ailment on a target. Is this true? Does getting more crit chance help with applying shock status?

Because the consensus on this thread thus far has been that damage scales with shock threshold. Meeting a minimum lightning damage threshold which is scaled with the target hp raises the chance to apply shock.

As such, my question is now specifically:
Does crit chance increase shock chance by increasing the lightning damage, or is there a separate mechanism of crit processing shock?

Any lightning damage will proc Static Blows, however, shock duration is based on how much damage you do as lightning.

Wrong.
The only game you need to win at is on the internet.
If the potential 100 damage on thunderfist exceeds the threshold to trigger a shock on the target then yes, they will be shocked if Static Blows calls for it. Thing is, the less damage you do, the lower the duration of the shock, and at a certain point (.3 sec duration) the shock won't even apply. The increased Shock Duration may allow you to shock things you normally shouldn't, but rares and uniques may take more than just 100 damage to shock.

Wrong.

This post is nothing but spam unless you point out WHAT is wrong about it.
Only lightning attacks will proc static blows.

The original question was "will Thunderfist's 1-100 be enough to proc Static Blows?"

Thunderfist's 1-100 will only apply to attacks, so it is assumed that he only means on attacks.

The original question is not what was being addressed. The other poster specifically said "ANY lightning damage".

I should like to point out that while your comment is true, it's also true that the duration can be 0. Which is to say, if you don't do enough damage, you won't shock at all. From the mechanics thread:

'If the duration would be less that 300ms, it's ignored entirely (the effect is not applied).'

IOW, the damage qty absolutely does matter.

OP here.
Thanks for the extensive replies guys!

So, the take home message is that I need to add more lightning damage to see an effective increase in shock that translates to an effective shock duration in actualy gameplay.

Therefore, Thunderfist alone is not enough to add shock to a Physical/Fire-based Rain of Arrows attack.
As such, Thunderfist synergizes better with a Lightning/Fire-based Lightning Arrow attack.

Is that correct to say?

What skill+support gem combinations work best in a Thunderfist, theoretically?
let's say, a 4 socket linked Thunderfist.
Essentially, it's a free +18 added lightning gem already in there.
So, which active skill works best attached to an Added Lightning Gem?
And which support gems can best synergize that effect?
