Accuracy isn't everything. Your DPS will go up if your damage is gigantically higher with a bit of a loss in accuracy. Also, Projectile Weakness exists.
Also, screw all of you trying to "balance" Lioneye's. ARPGs are less about strict balance and more about killing shit, which is why Diablo II, considered by many to be the best ARPG, has never had super good game balance.

actually the top rolled rare bows will always beat lionseye.
you can get up to 468 dps from a rare bow.
169% phys dmg
25-45 phys dmg
any high tier ele roll (best option would be fire)
1.75 attacks per second
now none of those exist yet, but there are so nice ones out there.
tri elemental thickets are trash dont bother with those.

first of all...10 - 15% loss in accuracy is not small. that's not "A BIT" of damage. That takes a 400 dps bow right down to 340 dps.
diablo 2 didnt have a currency system specifically based around mostly altering and changing magic/rare items...
the closest thing that came to d2 currency was high runes, and those were directly used to create the best items in the game.
so comparing it to diablo 2 seems a bit silly.
i am kind of offended that the economy is filling up with cheap lioneyes that crush rare bows

That's nice. Do you intend to go RT to fix your accuracy? If so, lioneye auto-wins because they're critting and you aren't (not to mention it costs two passives to do this)
If you do intend to go accuracy, how are you going to get it all? How many potentially useful offensive/defensive affixes have to now go into fixing your accuracy?
And most importantly..was it worth it? XD

5% crit with lions eye will 100% of the time LOSE to an etra 130 dps from your weapon.
now if you play a physical build with crit, you are doing it wrong already anyway because LA beats all physical builds anyway.

1) It's not 5%. Gear can increase your crit chance, and so can passives that are close to other useful passives.
2) Crit works just fine with Lightning Arrow. You crit, the damage is enhanced by your Critical Hit Multiplier, and then half of that total amount of physical damage is converted to lightning as per normal.

it is 5% lol
GEAR? WHAT GEAR? 36% from your neck maybe? That puts you at what? 6.5%? big deal not even close to 130 + dps from weapon
crit works fine with any skill why did you even say it works just fine with lightin arrow?
the point you clearly missed is the amount of crit you get with lionseye.
If you waste passives on crit nodes with a lightin arrow build you clearly have a shitty build lol

I run a physical ranger who does pretty damn good.

Which is still higher than Lioneye's. You also seem to forget that gear often has accuracy. It's pretty hard to avoid to be honest. I have like 600 by accident on my gear. It also gives you another Affix that you can get damage.

Makes no difference whatsoever.

Your quiver can also have crit...there, now you're at 8%...
get your crit multi above 150% and you're already matching that bow that took over 2500 chaos to roll.
that was hard.

Perhaps the owner of this bow : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/383170
could try it vs a high dps lionseye with the same gear set and passives to compare dps?
