Toggling show loot

First, it's awesome that the developers actually look and comment on these boards. Second, If adding filters in any way delays the release of the game... don't do it. :)

I say that only because I have no patience and this game sounds awesome.

Every post is read by at least one developer.

If item filters are needed, adding them is only a few hours of implementation plus a few hours of testing. The issue is just that we don't want to clog the options screen up with too many confusing features.

I should have stressed in my last post that white ("normal rarity") items are very important. Most of the items in my stash are white items with good socket arrangements. My highest level PoE character is wearing some white items because their sockets and quality values are good. Sure, I'll upgrade them to magic or rare items once I find good candidates, but a really lucky set of sockets is much better than a couple of medium mods.

In summary, an item filter to hide white text items might not be necessary because you probably want to look at those items.

But than FFA for white items, as mentioned in loot system thread, is bad idea.

You're right here Tormenta. As soon as I read Chris' post I thought the same thing.

But I agree with Chris also. There's no point at implementing filters if white items are really useful.

But you'll still want to filter on other aspects besides rarity. If I'm a Witch, I don't need my screen cluttered by default with swords and axes and other items I'm not interested in. I can always hold Alt to view these other items but I'd rather focus on items that are useful to me.

Or if I want a ring or amulet with a very specific mod on it and I don't really want to waste my time looking through every single one that drops.

The economy of the game is based on items themselves not on gold; and a marauder or whatever might be thinking the same thing with staves and other witch items. Simply passing them over is in neither of your interests as they can be bartered for what you actually want.

That's true. But the game will have (nearly) FFA loot which means I need to grab the items that are most pertinent to me first. All those other items are secondary.

Hmhmhm... I would definetly pick up the rarest item at first, even if it's for other classes and the second best item could be usable for my class and playstyle...
