My suggestion was a 25% reduced item quantity for choosing instanced looting - do you think this is fair? Is it too much of a penalty? Only one person has even regarded this idea, and with good results.

Id say if instanced loot is put into the game. Then that player should not get any party looot bonus. If they choose to play in a bubble they should only get drops as if they where playing alone.

That would be the only fair solution to instanced loot. Since FFA would keep the party rewards for loot but instanced players won't.

Ive actually posted this a while ago. And got chewed up pretty quick by some people.

A lot of things make a game good and enjoyable. Of course it's not about loot only, it's about being able to make a choice, it's about in-game realism, not thiking you are playing with bots, it's about the game "pushing" you to interact with others and actually make some effort to get what you want. The process counts too, for example talent trees aren't about simply buffing yourself but more about planning ahead and using your brain a little.
Again, one should be able to loot a monster that has the loot and drops in real-time and be able to choose if he wants to share it with others.

Once again, don't be confused by personal choices. They are of no relevance. I said i want competition (999th i say that again) and i am pro-FFA. And the "only one that isn't pleased"? Last i heard the developers and many more people in this thread said the same things.

Seriously, ask if i want loot competition again and no offence but, i'll start believing you are mentally challenged.

Now you are just talking crap to fill out the pages. OBVIOUSLY I'm not saying that THE GAME is all about loot. I am saying that THIS DISCUSSION is all about loot, and how it affects the game.

It's very simple actually. You are just making a mess out of it for no reason.
In [public]FFA groups you take some and you lose some, it's a zero sum game and in the end you are not at a disadvantage versus [public]instanced loot groups. It's not a question of convenience or "easy mode", it's just a playstyle choice. People would simply play what they prefer. If they think that instanced loot is like a bubble then they would play FFA. There can also be other loot options to please even more people.

Keep thinking your are defending your points sooOoooO well.

I believe all your arguments have been squashed. If there's one you feel is still valid, then please bring it up right now. In fact, please list and number the arguments you've made up till this point and I will write up a detailed post countering EACH and EVERY one of them just to PROVE I'm correct.

Sure, if the HP of the mobs doesn't increase and all interaction wiht other players is disabled. And for all private parties it would automatically have to be the same.
Otherwise it wouldn't be fair.

That actually might be giving them more loot funny enough. As stated previously in an instanced group the loot in divided by 6 players in a 6 man party, therefore if 30 pieces of loot drops from say Vaal, then in an instanced loot party they would only see 5 pieces of loot each.

UNLESS I'M STILL WRONG ON HOW INSTANCED LOOTING IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. I've only played torchlight and guild wars 2 that had FFA. I assumed they give the same number of loot as you would if it were FFA, except then it would be instanced. If THAT were the case, then removing the quantity bonus from groups would probably be acceptable.

If anything Vooodu, many people just want instanced regardless of the penalties provided. They want to play it and would accept the repercussions of not choosing FFA. Wouldn't it be best to 'try it out and see what happens' before crying the end of the world?

...lol. And this folks is the kind of people we are dealing with here.

So basically. Even if you got instanced loot. Which works pretty much the EXACT WAY D3 works someone always finds a way to complain about something else.

I think the people making this all about LOOT LOOT LOOT are the people who can't wrap their heads around this simple concept.

If this discussion is not about loot, then what is it about?

How catering to casuals ruins the game for you 1337 hardcore uberz?

Its pretty funny when Sickness and the other local yocals start spinning angles like 'Co-Op removes loot competition". They also, fail to want to accept playing alone or finding friends a viable option when all they care about is LOOT. At this point mentally challenged is an understatement.

"Co-Op removes loot competition" is an angle that you have to be mentally challenged to ignore.

I DO play alone and with friends. I don't play in public groups and even if we get loot options it's likely that I never will.
But unlike you not being directly affected by the problems doesn't stop me from acknowleding that they are there and understanding them.
I see an issue and inconsistency in the game (that I love) and I will do my best to help them fix it, even if it means talking to ignorant and backwards people like you.

At this point. 800+ pages and some of these guys are just grasping at lint and strings trying to make a point about how 'BAD' FFA is.

This is not about how bad FFA is. It's about how bad forced FFA in public games is.
Keep readin it and don't respond until you understand that. Let it really sink in.
Maybe a 25% quantity bonus per added person in the group would work? Details aren't significant at this point anyhow. Does this mean you agree that looting options could work? Cause it seems you are implying they can.

I've said a long time ago id be cool with instanced loot as long as it doesn't benefit from party rewards. This is pretty fair in my books

A simple toggle box by you character which can only be toggled on/off at the character select screen.

NOT the abilty make instanced loot games tho. IM against that. We all need to be playing the same game. If someone wants single player drops but prefers to play with others im cool with that.

Oh, so you suggested it to be like in D3? Do you not realise that that would be like having +100% quantity per player instead of +50%?
I don't want that because it's simply unfair for FFA, your point that no one would play FFA would actually be true.
