Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" I see your name and your text and know everything ;) the best way its a grp leader option to raise the loot time! So if i Write "No Ninjas" @ grp description you aggree it if you join my grp. But why join the "no Ninja" grp and still ninja as hell... Last edited by simbula#5186 on Mar 11, 2013, 10:45:34 AM

" How about everything good that drops just end up in your stash. Even if you are in the game or not. Then, you can just take a walk through the park smelling roses and never worry about drops or ninjas ever again. XD |

" Conclude whatever you will. I don't know you, so why should I care about what you think of me? I honestly couldn't care less about your definition of "loot ninja". To me, that doesn't exist in PoE in the first place. " Because you can't really tell them to leave, as a company towards their customers/players. Even though they can perfectly say, "play with friends that you can trust if you'd like to impose lootrules". I don't see anything wrong in that, given the setting and vision of this game. As a player, you can say something like that with no consequence and for good reason. I'm entitled to my opinion after all. Domination:

" Did... you just acknowledge the existance of ninjas? In response to Crackmonster.. GGG, I urge you not to listen to these hardcore FFA-defenders. They claim that keeping the loot system as it is will be better for the longevity of the game - this is just plain wrong. FFA loot absolutely destroys the social aspect of this game, and makes it a lot harder for communities to form. Without communities, players will not continue to play games for extended periods. Making instanced loot, or just making the system less FFA, will allow communities to form, because people will actually interact instead of just hoarding all possible loot. Picking up loot is not a question of skill, it is a question of a players latency. Before you repeat that it's their own fault for having bad internet, GGG have 3 servers. THREE. People closer to where these servers are situated will have an innate unfair advantage in grabbing loot. Last edited by EndOfEnds#7547 on Mar 11, 2013, 10:51:00 AM

" What the heck is wrong with you people? How many times do I have to say it? I'll try again in all caps.... THIS GAME ALREADY HAS PRIVATE PARTIES, WHICH IS THE EASIEST WAY TO PLAY THE GAME!!! NON COMPETITIVE PUBLIC PARTIES CHANGES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, PRIVATE PARTIES WITH FRIENDS WILL STILL BE THE EASIEST WAY TO PLAY THE GAME. LOOTING OPTIONS DOES NOT MAKE THE GAME ANY EASIER AS A WHOLE AND PEOPLE WHO WANT LOOTING OPTIONS DO NOT WANT AN EASIER GAME. ITS A PLAYSTYLE CHOICE. Standard Forever

" lulz.. If anything this encourages players to form actual teams and seek out friends to play with. Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Mar 11, 2013, 10:58:53 AM

" So by discouraging party play in public games, you're encouraging party play in private games? If the loot system stays as it is, we're just going to have a huge split between FFA and anti-FFA, even larger than we have now. And you've all said it before - people might join no ninja parties and stick to the rules, but once an exalted or unique drops, your "Friends" will turn on you. Do you really want to argue that having your high-value items stolen by friends (I'm using the term stolen under the assumption that you are respecting the original names on loot in this party) encourages a social aspect in the game? |
|
" Only because it's bad. The exact same thing can be said about something like a 2 sec delay on every action in public games. Last edited by Sickness#1007 on Mar 11, 2013, 11:06:25 AM
