Also if they want to keep this FFA loot system they need to add an option to turn hostile on the spot to get revenge for some true FFA game play

This is incredible naive.

What do you exspect??

Imagine this situation:

Player A gets dropped an exalted orb
Player A clicks on exalted orb, but it does not work because of ping
Player B picks up exalted orb
Player A writes "Fuck you" in chat and turns hostile

1, player B logs out
2, player B gets killed and dies, nevermind, still he has the orb
3, player B kills player A ROFLROFLROFL

How can this be fun at all???

Most reasonable text I read this week:

I can't believe this nonsense is still in the game.

Chris, listen to me, or whoever is in charge. This system doesn't add a single positive thing to the game. The only thing it does is frustrate people. Mark my words: You will not hear the end of this from your player base, and for good reason. It breaks up combat because you have to go get your item or someone doesn't pay attention for a moment and they lose an item to another player. It literally encourages players to NOT play with each other.

You want the world to feel unforgiving, and that fine. Do that in art, difficulty, story, music, enemies, etc... not an item system. What if we applied that logic to another element in the game? Let's make things less forgiving and intentionally sabotage the UI and controls. Now, there's a 5% fail chance when you try to click something or issue a command to your hero. It's more intense now right? No, it's just silly!

If you built in a system where players both compete against each other while playing on the same team, that's totally different. If this was 4 Swords or Mario Kart story mode (if there is such a thing... unlocking tracks and stuff) it has a built in system. You're working together, but you're competing for a score board. However, for PoE this is clearly an after thought. Are you telling me that you play other RPGs and loot based games and think to yourself: "You know what would make my experience better? If other people took my loot %10 of the time."

Come on...

1.) Picking up items while fighting is rather simple. Unless of course you have a horrible build that dies in seconds.

2.) Saying that " It literally encourages players to NOT play with each other" is a load of BS. Truth would be, it encourages certain kinds of players with entitlement issues not to play with each other.

I play with cool players in FFA games ALL the time. The lack of bitchin' about drops is so relaxing. Why is that players like that have no problems killing, looting and moving on wether they get all the drops or not?

3.) The faster you can understand its NOT your loot the easier everything becomes.

The less you bump this thread to argue with them, the faster it will die.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

Hey, at least I presented something worth arguing, but all I get back is Vooodu stating "You are wrong, and I am right".

You might as well be giving me:

Ya...lol.

But, there's few permanent residents in this thread who will make sure it stays bumped. Also, this thread gets a fresh bump everytime some newbie looses an a named/timer drop in pub games.

I just think its a good thing to have at least a few people in this thread countering their bullshit constantly. I've been getting better at it. They just go straight for the insults now.. lol.

I don't insult you. A few others might insult you, but it doesn't help if you insult us. You've done it since day 1. You stated that you do your best to keep things "PG", but yea... I can't argue with you. Whatever I say is wrong and you are right in your eyes. You are not willing to disagree with countering points at all. You might as well just be a wall.

That's why I haven't been arguing with you. I doubt you care though. However, I doubt anyone else is going to come by any time soon to discuss civilly, so I'll just keep watching this thread.

Let the battle between Kill and Vooodu continue...

Solution

Make group play much harder than now which is piss easy so that players farming solo/group should have more or less equal efficiency.

Right now people who are unhappy with FFA looting are FORCED to play in groups because grouping makes everything a cakewalk and most noobs are able to clear maps they otherwise cannot.
