Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

They are working on changing the system.


This should not be a debate on if they should change the system but HOW they should change the system.

Personally I think they should:
1.Change the system is default/hardcore(currently being worked on)
2.Use the current system in the races
3.Add FFA as a map mod

My question to the pro-FFA crowed is if the changes I put forth would keep them happy?

Yeah. You could hide from the problem, or you can diagnose it and come up with a solution. The latter is preferred. Also, your 'solution' solves one or two of the issues, yet I've easily listed 6 or 7 issues with the loot system, and there may be more.

Please don't be nasty to me in your responses. Remember that I used the word "option," not "solution." The point I was trying to make was that given that GGG has expressly stated they want loot getting to be cut-throat, they are probably not going to recode the entire party system to implement the options discussed in Demious's post [although see above post - this may be wrong], but that despite that likelihood, available-but-imperfect alternatives do still exist.

Given that my posts were just listing viable options for playing without FFA looting, my point that there are really not that many people that join no ninja groups just to be funny and steal loot is a supporting argument, as it supports my argument that the alternative options I suggested are actually viable.

I believe this is third time you've stated it. Regardless, we don't know what they will change. Discussion is still available until the change occurs, and even then the looting discussion may continue if a large quantity of players are unhappy.

Worst case scenario they just modify the timers and pretend the problem has been solved. Best case they give the players the option to decide to go with GGG's vision or a different loot option entirely. Who knows?

this IS the best case scenario for the GAME...people staying = more peoples will buy things from shop = more $$$ for GGG = better game for everyone

if FFA stays or timer modifications only = more griefing from loot = more PvP oriented game with enforced PvP system in the loot = less players = less $$$ for GGG = less better game for everyone = BEST game for elitist and griefers (but they cant' sustain a working F2P game)

it is not THAT hard to figure out which scenario is the best...
