You apparently can't step outside the FFA thinking bubble and answer the question. Forget FFA for a moment and ask yourself if a player really DESERVES more loot for being faster. You apparently really think that which is fine. But we simply don't believe that which is why FFA sucks for us. In our opinions people don't deserve more loot for winning the "focus on loot drops clicking contest." Its not skillful and really really stupid.

This right here is the problem. I never ever asked you "as far as the game is concerned". I asked YOU. I already know what FFA thinks. It astounds me that any person believes that the person DESERVING of any loot is the person who.....

1) Stands on a drop preventing others from getting it.

2) Has a better internet connection.

3) Just happened to be closer (perhaps from being melee).

4) Focuses all attention on the drops instead of the monsters.

Most rational adults would say that the whole team deserves the loot for playing the game and contributing. The same way you earn and deserve loot in single player.

The current system is fine in my opinion. Pay attention and you'll get loot, don't and you won't.

I say this and I'm playing a 70 Hardcore ranged Witch who's supposed to stay in the back, so I can safely say I am playing the hardest role in order to get loot here. One over-extension for loot and I can end up dead. And I fully support it.

If you want to play a facerolling-auto-loot-auto-xp-never-die game, go back to Torchlight II / Diablo III. Path of Exile is for experienced gamers who enjoy challenge and some competition.

Exp is your reward. Not dying is your rward. Not the loot. You want loot either play alone or group with people who share your same concept of the game.

You can't expect random pugs to work as a team and share. This is not pre-school.

When did the devs say that this game was only for those who like competition? I think your wrong.

If you think TL2 is anything like that, then you've obviously never played Torchlight II. Plenty of hard fights in that game.

Your opinion. I disagree. I bet the devs even refer to the loot as a reward for killing monsters. It makes sense. You kill the monsters so you deserve the reward that comes from that which would be the shiny stuff that falls from their bodies. If its not a reward what is it? A "bonus" like the other guy said? Ya ok a "bonus", what does that even mean? A bonus reward I guess lol.

Of course I don't expect them to share. Thats kind of why I have been supporting non competitive systems. What does preschool have to do with anything?
