" This is what I am talking about. If you want to dispute what someone says as crying or whining then do it with that person. Otherwise you come across as just trolling and trying to start crap up. I am willing to bet that most of what your talking about are just people not happy with the current system and voicing that they don't like it and how they would like to see it changed. That's not crying or whining. That's called feedback. On recent pages you can see people giving very long criques of the current system and many ways they feel that it can get better. That's far more helpful than the posts that you have made so far. Standard Forever

" Yep, You missed the 6th option Use allocated loot and logging of the players performance to make real competitive gameplay possible. Pros: -ranged/connection issues compensated -no timers, no camping -bystanders running around opening chests & contributing nothing are easily identified and kicked -fast paced game, strong focus on fighting mobs rather than standing around waiting for loot rain -real loot tension, constructive competition, secure reward -no hardcoded options, player decide on party scale how they wanna play (important because the devs dont have to position themselves in any corner (FFA vs. Allocated), also they keep their idea of loot tension but in a more suitable fashion) Contra: -new system from scratch, a lot of work to implement and incorporate existing functions -balancing the values for supportive actions, so players doing not much of dmg but alot of support work get rewarded as well. -whatever i missed so far competition game mode / loot allocation: http://redd.it/18eodl

Pls change this lootsystem! This has nothing too with competition, this is NINJA! PoE is so great, but the Lootsystem take all the fun out of Party Play :( and a long living ARPG need good Group Play ...

Getting body blocked or misleading pathing resulting in lost loot is nothing cut throat, just less then desirable game mechanics
Not to mention having to worry about grabbing loot mid fight Increase range of being able to pick items up and instead of increasing the loot timer per se have it extended by pve aggro in near vicinity |

i don't know how i feel about it. loot is dropped near random players in a party and given a timer until it's free for all? what if i need something that's too far away and someone grabs it before i do? i was in a party and loot was being picked up before i had a chance to look at any of it. personally, it turns me off of grouping up to avoid any issues with loot.

While understanding that it is supposed to be a cut-throat experience I do believe that eventually it needs to be an enjoyable game for the most people possible. So IMHO the best way to get rid of this problem without pissing off both sides is simply letting party leader chose loot style/timer when creating a party (Not being able to change it afterwards to avoid abuse)
Or simply dividing this in leagues(?) Those ideas seem to pop endlessly on the different forums and I'd have to agree with both sides, while FFA loot is a nice addition, it is less brutal than D2. But also people avoiding groups (I mainly avoid groups cause I hate seeing my orbs/items ninjaed) is not fun for many as it seems. So while I am totally against the current loot system because it discourages me entirely from playing in parties. I also find myself at the point of: I give up loot or i take my chances solo? And since both seem to disappoint I simply decided this is not a game for me, When I come to a game I want to have fun and not loot drama. tl;dr I think for many people the FFA loot is one of the main draw-backs of the game. I know that for me it is a 2nd drawback (after the optimization). And I can't see a drawback of letting people simply chose how they want their loot divided just like you let them chose if they want hardcore or softcore league. The Loot system atm sucks big ass. In ANY group are some ninja looters they take all the stuff for themself. They dont want share, have no sense for honor or common social behavior. They just very selfish and dont care about other and steal all they can get. And the current loot system says "ok, do so. you have nothing to fear" and they do so and robbing our loot.
This system support bad behavior! I play ALOT MMO´s and sadly i need to say this game got by far the WORST loot system i ever see. This destroys alot of fun to group with people because i know i never will get any item. Iam a ranger and the loot timer is faster gone as i can reach the item! just increase the loot timer more then double or lets roll for the items like in other games. Iam lv 56 now and dont even have an exalt because this greedy selfish loot kids steal all the items. This treath got more then 650 replys. Its a big concern and something must be done! if you dont set rules to people they will do anything to sadisfy there own selfish greed. They just dont care if they steal or not. In our todays society dont think about humanity, honor, fairness or justice. it dont exist. Even less in a computer game where you be anonymus... sorry for the grammar. English is not my main language. I hope you understand my point :) |
