Oh dear, STILL people thinking it has to be one way or the other, talk about rigid minds.

Just because you personally don't care about losing currency en masse doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't.

>>>CHOICE<<<

I'm skeptical they could implement choice without creating other problems. otherwise, I agree.

I need items too, when I solo I cant kill things that fast with mf on, so really the party was earning the extra loot, my only point was that - because so many rares were falling it was actually disrupting the game because of the complaining.

When you play in a group there is overall LESS drops then if you each soloed - therefor it will always feel like you are not getting your fair share. Then when something does fall with your name and someone grabs it right as the timer expires it feels much worse then if it was just pure ffa and you just were not that fast - you would blame yourself not others in your group.

i hope i cause no offence or wrongly draw conclusions here. Diamond supporter=affluent= probably has highend computer and setup. Try coping with clicking on an item 20 times (or 1, but i find 20 works marginally better) and picking named loot in a large ffa group. Its not happening. And its REALLY FRUSTRATING.

I get constantly insulted because I supposedly steal other ppls gear? Why don't these ppl understand it's not theirs when timer runs out? Simple, because of the stupid name under it.

It's probably intended by the devs to bring up some hatred between players, thats good for character development i guess, and hey! it's cut-throat plus fun and such.

The problem with ninjas/leechers/etc. is that they're mostly just waiting that a timer runs out, in this time they could also fight monsters and contribute something for the groups success you know? maybe all the hate against those guys is somehow justified by their unproductive and egomanic behavior ...

... but thats just my guess. :)

Nontheless, and i admit not those guys are the central problem, it's basically the actual loot-system itself and its definitely and in fact the sole responsibility of the devs to change it for the better.

However, that is not the timer's purpose. The timer is only to, and I quote, "mitigate item loss due to latency and travel distance."
Item loss, eh? That implies that the item does in fact belong to a user and they are entitled to it. Funny that so many FFA advocates convince themselves (and only themselves) that "it's not your item until it's in your inventory". Chris states pretty clearly that the timer is there to help prevent item loss, and how can you lose something that's not yours?

Getting really tired of seeing this word being thrown about. It's not cut-throat unless I can actually cut your damn throat and take the item back.

If they wanna please the try-hards so much, why don't they implement open world pvp as standard in all leagues. Then see how many of these "hardcore" guys play the game when it's really cut-throat.

This half assed version only puts the focus on picking up loot, rather than working as a team. And if that's what the devs want, good for them. I know I will only jump back into this game when they implement an option for instanced looting. I guess i'll just browse the forums till then. Damn shame the devs are turning a blind eye to something so stupidly obvious.

You do not understand.

Right, because you're using that kiddie exile bedtime story to justify a part of your "argumentation" when it suits you and also use the "like in the real life" analogy when it also suits you in other parts of your "argumentation".
I really believe the devs succesfully brainwashed you fervent ffa guys into believing that pathetic exile story and thus in accepting all the bad aspects of the game "no questions asked".

Haven't played that much yet, but so far I find the system somewhat annoying. The top-down combat with no real targeting gets confusing enough for me with a few extra players so I really don't want to worry about looting constantly. If anything valuable drops "for me" there'll be at least one dude ready to grab it immediately if I don't make it in time, and it does happen occasionally because one or two seconds aren't always enough.

Not sure if actual loot assignment would be good for the game as a whole, but it'd make fighting in parties less stressful for me.

Don't think of the loot as "yours". You just have first dibs on it. Which is a pretty good compromise between the old ffa, and the new instanced system.

I find the "Ninjas will be kicked" groups annoying. And often the group title just reeks of attitude problems.
First of all it doesn't really work when something really rare drops.
Second, the groups move so damn slow. Everyone is afraid of picking shit up. And then there's the "you have a drop over here".

Good thing is, this is all optional! There are enough groups for everyone to play as they whish. Just don't expect the game to cater to everyones needs. That's just not possible.

Regarding loot, it's pretty close. Just let the group leader select loot options and the only people that aren't catered to are those who want to take others' share.

This nonsense about loot tension is silly. Groups that don't like it just make non-ninja groups and get around it. Are those groups playing incorrectly because of that?
In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.
Fail loot system is fail loot system , im all for a hardcore game but shitting on your players by implementing a half-baked moronic loot system is beyond asinine. GGG have failed miserably on the loot aspect of this game when it comes to grouping and have ruined the most enjoyable part of any arpg which is grouping with people and getting loot.

YOU FAIL MISERABLY, thats all.

What a horrible company shitting on everyone eh? pouring their lives into a fantastic game that they are letting everyone play for FREE and, well darnit its your duty to smear your ignorance and throw insults at them because something about the game does not cater to your tastes. the nerve.

I bought a diamond support not because I'm some fanboy that just sees them as doing no wrong or because I have money to throw around. I looked long and hard at this game, I read the early design manifestos and I see the mark of genius everywhere. and still do. I am compelled to support them by my own principles.

Whatever they do with the loot system (if anything) I am confident it will be good, but I sure as hell hope that they don't do it to cater to people like you.
