Reality.

Anyone with a fully developed brain would realise that this is a FFA game. Theres no such thing as NINJAing items.

Also, anyone with a full developed brain would never assume anyones true age from a few posts on some video game website.

All these kids that cry about loot should go play diablo 3. Seriously. or even World of warcraft since im sure they want items to bind on equip too.

What I've been thinking is why not have a UI with the parties, before making/joining a party you can set specific rules those rules can be things that can be checked or radio dial or what have you, here is a few options.


Option Number 1 - Separate controls for every public party set by the leader of said party:
"Allow free loot" = No loot rolls, true free for all.
"No Loot-Ninja" The person is rolls for is the ONLY person who can grab it, regardless how long it takes for them to pick it up. This would only happen while they are in the area, if they leave the area or the "screen" a good 40 meters or something the item would un-roll for them allowing it to be free for all. That way even if an item drops for someone if they don't want it another person can pick it up, or even if they had a way to pass on the roll.

"Dis-allow free loot" All valuable loot rolls and the timer is extended a lot more for rangers and not as much for melees.
"Allow pickup" Allow people to pick up any items
"Lead pickup" This would be for clans/factions/guilds who only want the items to be picked up by the leader of party for DKP (This is something my clan does)

I think by allowing players to pick their specific party rules it gives more freedom to who they will allow in the squad. Saying "No loot-ninjaing" isn't enough. It needs to be IMPOSSIBLE for items to be picked up by a player whom it didn't roll for. Again, this is optional for people and would only be turned on for the players who absolutely DESPISE loot stealing.


Option 2:
Extend the timer depending on the rarity of the item.
Common orb drops like Alterations and Transmutations, only a second or 2
Orb of chance or Chromatic, Glassblowers 5 seconds
GCP, Exhalt, any high level orb/currency 10 - 20 seconds more to the timer no matter your range

I get more GCP taken from me than anything else... about 10 so far. I'm a ranger and I've seen about 4 of them drop and run on screen just as the other 6 were timing out. People have gotten to the point where they body block, making it extremely hard to get your stuff before you get a chance to grab it.



These are just a few ideas I had, maybe you can take some of it or all of it and apply it. Good luck figuring out this drop system.


PLEASE DO NOT MAKE IT LIKE DIABLO 3!!!! I love the cutthroat feeling it just needs to be a little bit more manageable because - lets be honest - Being in beta the game still lags .__. specially when 900 zombies are on the screen from other players in your party ><



Also, I'd like to make it clear I'm fine with BOTH ninjaing and no-ninja parties, I love the feel of grabbing an item before another person can but at the same time it's not fair with the lag, sometimes it's me lagging, sometimes it's them. Being able to select the option for it would elimiate the problems, especially when clicking on the party to join it it would tell you "this party is set to ______ so and so rules" Are you sure you want to join?" And a yes or no UI would be perfect for that.

I can see them going to play Hockey and complain about the ice being to hard, skating is to complicated and the puck is too small.

They want options.

They don't want to use sticks... So let us use our feets. Just want the option'

They don't want to skate on ice... So lets remove the ice and use grass. Option'


And please let us use a ball instead of a puck. option'.

Well now it sounds like soccer. If you tell them to go play soccer and shut up they get sooo offended.

Thats the mindest of these people.

Adults generally don't need to brag about how grown up they are to random strangers on a forum.


You can't ignore the FACT that alot of people do consider picking up stuff that had someone elses name on to be ninjaing. You can call it whatever you want, but that doesn't change that when someone makes a no-ninja group they refer to picking up stuff that had someone elses name on.

If you join their group only to break that rule then you are a douchebag and need to grow up, because all you are doing is griefing other players to make yourself feel better. Why can't you accept that some people does not share your views on how loot should be handled and respect that they want to play the game abit different from you?

Agreed. They need to just respect the other players. Even if the devs have to force it by allowing us to add certain rules to the party when making it as a party leader.

Diablo 3 is a horrid game. People loves this game because it's NOT diablo 3. I don't want anything from D3 coming here, I hate the drop system, I love the free for all. However, I'm mature enough to realize not everyone has the EXACT SAME feelings as me. It's rude to say "If you don't like it go play diablo" They came from there they don't want to. You are being highly inconsiderate with your attitude. They want to play their way and you want to play your way. As long as the devs don't ruin your way of playing unless you enjoy joining random groups and being a douchebag by taking the drops in a no - ninja party, I see no issue with them fixing the drops if they do it right. So, moral of this story is, dont' be a jerk just because people think differently from you. That's what 12 year old kids do.

Just because i play the game the way its meant to be played doesn't make me a jerk or a 12 yr old kid.



If somone uses the term ninja they are being annoying. I actually can't stand these people. I love to make them cry. If i pick up an item and they cry about it i just mock them and laugh.


If somone asks me nicely for the drop i picked up, il give it to them no questions asked.
