as an answer for the question "What makes PoE different from other games?" for gods sake. Last time I got my 5-link ninja'd, I congratulated the guy just to encourage the concept of competing for loot.

A system where you could declare hostility on the guy that 'steals' your loot should also be implemented, to prevent this system to be abused, when you choose to be hostile, your party votes if you're allowed to be. If you are not, it's like you tried to attack him but got convinced/forced by your party to otherwise. If you are, well, "if you steal my loot I will steal your life".

Cutthroat my ass. Game isn't even cutthroat. That's the problem I'm having. Remove the timers or do something to change the looting system to make it fair. It's as if right now it's pseudo-cutthroat.

Oh well... I'm gonna go play some more PoE.

I would be interesting if the loot system was cut throat. They should change it so name stay on the items after the timer expires and if someone takes your allocated loot you would be allowed to attack them. The current system is partially instanced with all aspects of ‘cut throat’ removed.

The guy posted losing a 5l says he's fine with it because the game's supposed to be cutthroat. That's the wrong reaction.
The right reaction is "You took a 5l that I want, now I'm going to kill you for it."

That's cut-throat. Until GGG stops half-assing their attempts at creating a truly cut-throat atmosphere, I'm not going to play PoE.
I'd hate if they lengethed timers or made instanced loot.

What they could do is just make larger click boxes for times loot.

Still morons thinking it has to be one way or the other not a choice.

What are they fighting for? The chance to imbalance loot distribution in their favour by being a self serving prick and generating a huge wave of frustration which is hurting the game.

They need better mouse controls, period, but I feel that's a separate issue.

The issue at hand is that FFA looting sans-PVP is not cut-throat, hardcore, or even genuinely competitive, it's just a breeding ground for annoying shit-monkeys.

If people want that, then fine. Make it optional in Normal mode. If GGG wants a truly cut-throat experience, then they need to make the Cut-Throat league, already, and enable intra-party PvP along with timer-less FFA looting.
Six hundred pages!

The most recent Developer post is almost 2 years old. Second to d-sync this is the biggest issue with the game. The Devs should provide an official statement on this. They should clearly state ‘we are never going to change the system’ or ‘we are changing the system in this way’. The refusal to respond to six hundred pages of client feedback is only increasing player frustration.
