Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" we arent' doing that...in fact i believe that Chris is much more better than jay wilson.... you guys are the ones who imply that GGG is a stubborn company with stubborn devs who want to "stick to their plan amd vision, who care about the players if they do not like it they can shove off from here" When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

" So the self-entitled-and-selfproclaimed-pro-elitist-harcore-players-of-them-all would choose the "easy" way? I can't believe that! lol I guess this will show their true care-pink-bear nature while taking off the fake varnish of their selfproclaimed hardcoreness. I'm pretty sure all the players who really love ffa will still play ffa. Also i'm pretty sure your statement is nothing more than FUD. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 14, 2013, 3:52:22 AM

The loot system needs some serious reworking. There's been countless times when someone or a group of someones work tirelessly to bring down a monster, and all the good loot are instanced towards someone who spent their whole time running around like a monkey contributing zero. Hell, sometimes the player wasn't even on the screen and comes rushing in to gank the fruit of everyone else's hard labor.
They need to at least add a check where if you didn't contribute much towards bringing the monster down, or you aren't even on the screen, you don't get the drop. |

Unfortunately I have the same feeling/opinion as Omnivore61 regarding the devs approach on this.
I've been reading almost all their posts and inputs, officially or not, for a long time since closed beta and its very easy to see their stance on this. They are reds on their core feeling regarding loot. Biased on this. So it would take nothing short of a miracle for them to considerably change the current loot system. They are also closely surrounded by the so called self-entitled-hardcorers-extremists and unfortunately the opinions of this group are very important to them. Anyway, we'll see, but the realistic way on this would be a very conservative stance from them. So I really doubt we'll see important changes. And from my point of view they'll never implement a instanced-loot-option. Oh, and regarding the latest statement from the lead dev, "discussing player feedback on loot options", i would not put much hope on that. They can anytime come and state: "We have discussed the loot system/option and we strongly believe in ffa bla bla bla" or something like that. Stating they are "discussing it" it doesnt mean that they gonna alter/change it. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 14, 2013, 7:19:45 AM

" So that means, that PoE will loose 90% of the players after they reach Level 70+ If thats the goal of GGG, keep the loot-system as it is. |

" amen, apparently they shouldnt' care cause they have the "pro-hardcorezz" to back them up When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

" While what you have stated is a theoretical possibility, it remains to see what is going to happen in the future. I strongly believe in loot-options, I believe both ffa and instanced as extremes can coexist in this otherwise very good game. And we also have the middle ground to cover ... After all, i've been playing this on an off for the last one and a half year. Despite only ffa-loot i kept playing it and i didn't left. So far. |
