The majority wanted loot-options.
Those with extremes = minority.

Also, just because there seems to be more people expressing their distaste for FFA loot on the forums doesn't mean there are more people who want instanced rather than FFA. The people enjoying FFA loot are too busy playing and have nothing to complain about.

Top of the page, this good sir kept count. Instanced loot people were at 19.

You didn't get shit. I never said most of the people who were against FFA wanted instanced loot, did I? The truth is, more people want something different than FFA or the current timer system.

Too bad half of those involve a form of instanced loot. We've already got a form of instanced loot. There is literally no way to solve issues with looting in an ARPG because there will always be people left out of the solution. I heavily disliked D3 because of the skill tree, not allowing me to place stats, and the loot system.

FFA, instanced, semi-instanced, it doesn't matter people will complain about shit forever because it isn't the way they want it. It's called being entitled instead of playing the game the way it was designed.
Arguing against others in order to prevent change is also entitlement.

FFA is simply the way to go for this type of game and I really don't understand why people have so many problems with it..

Simple really.

Player is rolling with a group.

Item drops with their name on it, with time bar ticking away.

They run over to pick it up and don't get anything.

They then RAGE about what 'could' have been.

Then, they come on this forum and complain about NINJAS taking their loot...lol

Moral of the story is... Its not yours until its in your inventory.

Problem is... The timer causes entitlement issues.

Solution.... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRhhHHh anything that will stop that from hapeening again.

ITS MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...lol. Sorry that was fun.

Spoiler
http://www.outofthefog.net/CommonBehaviors/Entitlement.html

"A "Sense of Entitlement" is an unrealistic, unmerited or inappropriate expectation of favorable living conditions and favorable treatment at the hands of others.
I would say wanting to have loot at the expense of others having loot fits this more than wanting for everyone to have equal loots.

"They may appear at times to care only about their own desires and needs at the expense of other people around them or they may habitually prioritize their own needs above those of others."
I would say the kind of person who says "if you don't like it, leave" fits that more than the kind of person who wants options so that everyone can tailor things to themselves.

"Sometimes, people who suffer from personality disorders seem to have a no sense of shame or scruples. They are not afraid to make a fool out of themselves. It’s always the other person who is to blame when something goes wrong."
I would say that someone who claims "you shoulda been faster it's not yours until its in your inventory" fits that more than "my ping is so high I can't always get to the loot in time" does.

TL;DR - A psychologist is more likely to diagnose a pro-ffa red with a sense of entitlement than a pro-timers/options/instances green.

Why change what isn't broken? I don't care what GGG does with loot. I'm not trying to stop anything from changing. I just don't understand why people can't just play the damn game instead of whine about loot.

And I don't need any definition of entitlement, people who want to change the loot system act like it's life or death. "Change it now or I quit!", "Why can't I just get my own loot!?", "I'll never play this game again because of FFA!".

That's true entitlement. Your little definition could make the developers sound entitled because the originally wanted FFA loot and they don't want to change it.
By saying "your little definition", are you trying to diminish/infantilize the quoted comment only, or are you referring to the more scientific definition I gave after Voodu used entitlement? (end of previous page, check spoiler tag)

Also, not everyone who wants a change acts like that demanding "do x or else". That's disingenious. I'm pretty sure very few people have done that out of all the people who are unhappy with the loot system.

My first post on the forums, all I said was that I wasn't going to play in random parties due to the FFA looting.

Thanks for the LOL. GGG has already added timers because CB participants had issues with full on FFA. Now they are going to be making more changes because OB participants have issues with the current loot system. Obviously, something in wrong if there are so many complaints.

A big part of beta is to find out what problems are in the game in order to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone, not just one group of people. So far more people are NOT enjoying the current loot system than those who are, so GGG will make adjustments.

This is well said...we are all Beta Testers right now, the game has not left Beta yet so there is still work that needs to be done.

Like it or not the loot system doesn't work and needs to be reviewed so it caters to everyone not just griefers and loot whores.
If you think I care what you think, you need more of a life than I do.
