Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

There's actually quite a few things wrong with instanced loot.
1) slower progression. 2). People think drop rates are too low 3). Leeching is still a problem. |
|
" What a nonsense! 1, what is the problem with this? Even if slower progression is "bad for the game" the devs could increase droprates 2, valid point. People will experience the same loot as less 3, Is this really a con argument??? The loot system is not about reduce leeching, its about the itemzerging. |

You say nonsense, than agree with each of my points?
Thanks, I guess. |

I think it would be nice if the loottimer was adjustable 0-infinity by the party leader.
But on the precondition that loottimer are only present if the item is visible (or in x range) to the player that it is assigned to. Meaning that as soon as a player moves on in a dungeon, his allocated loot becomes free for everyone to take. |

" He agreed with 1 of 3 points, thats 33%, not 100%. Do your math right ..... Make
Spectral Throw great again |

" 1) Kill monsters, every party member takes his allocated loot, move on. Rinse and repeat. Whats slow there? With current ffa implementation its the same pattern, plus some seconds on the loot-timers. And if people want to play at a slower pace, why not let them? Those rushing the ladder wont have a slower progression regardless of the loot-system used. And remember, we're talking about options, ffa will still be available for anyone to choose. 2) Those people are already playing solo so they are already familiar with the solo drop rates. They didnt see any loot pinata because they didnt play multi with ffa system. So instead of seeing 5 items drop they'll see 4 items drop. Big deal, go figure. So imho this wont be a problem too. 3) guess what, leeching is still a problem regardless of the loot-system used. " Obviously, the ffa loot has its own set of problems and wrongs but this didn't stop it from being, for now at least, the only loot system available in this game. No loot-system is perfect but imho a instanced/options one is better overall than only-ffa. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 9, 2013, 11:06:49 AM

He agreed with all of them.
He made a shitty workaround for 1, which means he agrees. He agreed to 2. And leeching would still be an issue m. And no, solo play would net you vastly more items than instanced. Instead of 5 items, it would be around 2. |
|
" I disagree, it would be the same in average. But definitely slower for ninjas. " It is just feeling, some people could feel that way. But I think it is minor thing in general. " Well magic word here is "still". It would have leeching but less then FFA. So it is good thing. People that agree with you can still choose to play the FFA. If I compare these "problems" with FFA problems, there is obvious winner. Last edited by Dishonor#0049 on Feb 9, 2013, 11:38:45 AM

" Not an issue. It's a choice people make when playing with instanced loot. " What? no, people are not THAT stupid. Those who are prefer to play FFA anyways. " FFA is wrong because it doesn't solve the war in Afghanistan. |
