reading the current dev replys i dont have much faith that they change the current loot system to something better (instanced loot)
this makes path of exile into a singleplayer game for me.
this is both good and bad.
good because i dont have to worry about char looks / extra stash tabs / farming riches etc when i'm not playing with other players.
bad because i really like this game (minus the ffa loot) and i know that a singleplayer game wont keep me entertained as long as a true multiplayer game would.

Why cant you just play the game like all the rest of us, and just click on the item with your name on it when you see it? Is it really that f@#%*#@ hard? You lose some and you win some. You snoozing at the wheel? That item is mine then. I didnt see that item drop with my name on it? Oh well, guess Ill do better next time. If you cant hack it dont play, its as simple as that.
The item is yours when it is in your bag.

If you keep FFA loot, slowly, but surely people will stop partying with randoms and just solo or stay with friends...and well playing with friends is the same as removing FFA loot by yourself.
Simply put, it is wrong and naive to expect people to act rationally and remain courteous in a FFA loot environment. This is not how it works. There have been largely enough games before this one demonstrating FFA loot is a mechanic abused by griefers and lootmongers alike and never ever benefit the fair players. Not to mention the amount of trashtalk and animosity this will create.
You are creating a hyperbole. The world is not going to end, you will still benefit from a group because they protect you and will want to go along with them because of that, not because of the free quantity bonus.
If you die to a boss, unfortunately your pathetic attempt is nill. Late in the game death is a severe consequence not only in hardcore. I don't want you to shackle yourself around my ankles so that I walk you over the hurdles. Keep yourself alive, or if you aren't as greedy as you are delicate I will too keep you alive gladly.

What you seem to be missing Ushela is exposure to the wider world of online gaming. If you have spent any time in MMO's, for example, you would see that people normally join groups to cooperate, not to compete, with each other. PoE with FFA flips this on its head and any veteran of other games with cooperative grouping and looting mechanisms is going to have a rough time coping with the very idea PoE is promoting with this.

There isn't anything that can stop you to cooperate, except the fear that other people are as greedy as yourself.

Because it's not fun..for example I hate when I have to have item labels turned on permanently because I am in big disadvantage .. it's my playstyle..but I just enjoy game visual and item labels are distracting as hell.. I want fight..then press alt, look what dropped and move on.. this is just forcing me to play "who can click on item label first" game..which has nothing with ARPG at all... Face it..this game is so hardcore, that difficulty in multiplayer part is laughable...at least we have stupid loot system.. which is making it a bit difficult.. yea..right.

This is absolutely a valid concern which I agree to, and a worthy contender for a possible new suggestion. But not the right reasons to compromise the mechanics of how the items are distributed.

Ive been playing MMOs since the 90s I know what they represent. Luckily, PoE is NOT an MMO...it is a competitive ARPG, or at least it was made to be this until all the blizzard gamers decided to try to change it...

The people who are looking for a change to the current looting mechanism don't want to be concerned with greed at all while the fight is on.
