Those threads are only circle jerking as i said a few times.

i belive this threads are an example of the furstated players....they feel furstated and they want the company to know it...what other way they have to speak their fursatation?

forums are for that reason dont' they?

looting is top priority problem atm...people are not talking about lags/desyncs or other problem...they speak for the loot!

Just have instanced loot in an optional paid league.

The game is free aka no costs from the player part.
Besides, that is going the racism/xenophobe route.
So no to paying and no to a separate instanced-league.
Yes to default league with loot-options and paying only for cosmetics.

They already made it clear, quit your bytchin and play the game, or don't. Why you guys still on this.
Nothing is clear. Last statement was about a non ffa league if enough are interested. But i think this would devide the community more then simple loot options.

Cheers

Brian already said they are keeping as it is for now, they are thinking about it. So quit your bytchin and play, or don't.
Thats pretty clear to me
Separate league by loot system is real nonsense. Just give simple options. But then would no one play FFA. Well some claim they would. I don't think 6 ninjas/leechers playing together would like it. They just want to spoil the others. Why would they try to prevent options so doggedly otherwise...

On the other hands, if they make instanced loot hardcore league and allow to transfer old hardcore chars there, I would be fine.

I'm glad to help you understand, what is this thread about. :)
It is clear to me now why GGG doesn't want to implement a choice for the players to either play FFA or non-FFA. They know the majority of players would choose the non-FFA option and that would kill their child, that would kill, what they call, the cutthroat feeling of the game in that aspect of the game.

Well, I really do not have that cutthroat feeling in the rest of the game. Yes, it is a hack-and-slash game and you have to kill monsters in order to get loot and improve your build, but that is PvE. Why create a PvP cutthroat feeling in multiplayer when the rest of the game does not have that?

The loot on the ground is not your loot
Fair point. It's 'the party''s loot. Yet, during the time it has my name on it, it's mine. The loot system decided that I was the only one supposed to be able to have it.

Whether you are for FFA or not, this is the one misconception that needs to be addressed. The timer does NOT mean you are supposed to have the item. The timer is there to give you a fair CHANCE to loot the item due to your ping or range from it. It does not mean you are the one that is supposed to end up with said item. So, in fact, the current philosophy of the loot system is that everyone should have a fair chance at any drop, even people that DO NOT have their name on the item when it first appears. This is the system the developers currently have in place. You may not agree with it, that's fine, this thread is here to discuss such things. But please understand that, currently, the loot system in place is a FFA system with accessibility, not a system that decides who should have certain items.
I see your point.
However, the timer doesn't give you a "fair chance" to get the item. It's a 100% chance while the timer is still on. Nobody can touch it during this time except you.
A 100% chance, it's not a chance anymore in people's mind. It's just... "If I am the only one to be able to pick it up because it has my name on it, then it belongs to me".
I know this wasn't why the system was designed for. I understand that they wanted to simply give a chance for ranged class to participate in this click fest... but it doesn't change the people's feelings when they didn't get something with their name on it.

If I write my name on a sandwish which I put in the fridge of the office at work, I expect more than a "chance" of eating it during launch time.
When I put the name of someone on a letter, it's for him/her to get it for sure, not for him/her just "having a fair chance" of getting it.
When Starbucks put your name on a cup, it's not for somebody else to pick it up in front of you saying "Woops! Too late!".
My little sister never took my presents during christmas because the little card with my name of it just fell off.

There is so many examples in life which suggest that if something has your name on it, then it's for you. So you can't expect that to suddenly changes in a video game. The will of the game designer doesn't matter if a lot of people are feeling a different way.

It doesn't feel right to put the name of someone onto something and telling him "Well, this is not for you... but you have a chance to have it if you're fast enough!". This just wont work.

i read the whole quote and it looks like it is the personal opinion or bryan and not the official response from GGG.

if they want cut throat then give pvp in public games .... pvp for looting is gay...

but apparently he spoke his mind and his personal opinion it doesnt' look official to me.

edit: also more or less that FFA system is player's problem and they should fix it (!!) by not grouping with strangers and they SHOULD find a "gentlemen's" group......a company asking the players to fix the problem for themselfs...com'on ...
