Wow, this thread blew up while I was at work...

* We want timers extended to 10-15 seconds.

* Loot options much like in World of Warcraft that will allow many different forms of looting.

* Purely instanced loot.

It really is a very simple fix that wouldn't discourage majority of players I have encountered from playing in random public groups. The current loot system is only killing the social aspect of the game.

Oh dear... relentless. Well with that I am outta this thread, keep it real GGG... you are our last bastion of hope. :)

A. Briefly explain your background in programming to give that some validity.
B. 347 pages of opinions seems pretty social to me.

I'm pretty sure the devs would MUCH rather have people actually playing the game rather than going on the forums to complain. ;)

Yeah, even single-player games often have quite active forums. Social interaction to me is actually playing together, not arguing. Personally, I dont play PoE with parties anymore becasue of the free-for-all looting, so I'd love to see an instanced loot option added.

A.Their is a line of code that controls the base loot timer. It currently reads something like loot_timer=0.5; The devs open their source code go to that line of code and change it to loot_timer=5.0; Problem solved, less players feel frustrated and system is preserved.

When the Devs are creating the next hardcore week long race they set loot_timer=0.5 and now the group of players that really like the system have an environment to play in.

FFA makes grouping HOSTILE. yeah i

And basically we find ourselfs back that that start of the cycle.

FFA Does not make grouping hositle. I don't feel im in a hostile enviroment when grouping. And im sure the majority of peoples who i've played with feel the same.

It takes a certain kind of player with a certin perception of reality to feel "FFA makes grouping hostile".

As it stands, every few games i run into somebody who goes on a wild entitled rant about an item dropping. Most of the time they just quit after expessing their rage. But others will nag, nag nag about it until the cows come home.

Bust mostly, the majoriy just keep playing and move on to the next fight..

FFA is very hostile. It ruins my games and also people i party with says so. Every party i'm in people complain about same things
1:ffa looting ruin parties. Atleast give us option to add more time to timer
2:hopeless to see monsters when in big parties. Atlest add floating names as option so we can see where monsters/party members are
3:add arrow at edge of mnimap....we really need to see which way party members went....
4: recipe book, when we use a recipe first time it should go into a recipe book we can look at later INGAME without needing to go web browser and search.
Hmm.... i don't understand what is the big deal here.

If you don't like FFA, don't party. Just play solo like i did, i hate when people took loots belong to me. Even my own real life friends would go for loots first while you busy killing the last bit of the enemies. Yes, just play solo, that is what i do.

If the dev decision, and i respect that, if the design of loot now discourage public party, so be it. I had no problem playing it solo :)

This is no solution to the desire to party without being screwed over by loot system which is inherently open to abuse.

Terribly illogical argument.
Every man's conscience is vile and depraved. You can not rely on it to be your guide when it's you who must keep it satisfied.

That sounds retarded. Your acting like people want FFA taken away. Oh no GGG our hope is in you that you won't do that!

No one is asking for that so I have no idea why FFA people are so dramatic over it. Your enjoying the game so why would you complain if it stayed the same and something else was added.

I wish they had revamped the co-op system before release. Currently they have two main issues with multiplayer aspect of the game.

1. Solo is challenging and highly dynamic while co-op is a cake walk. I believe monsters gain an additional 50% health for each player. Each additional player roughly increase damage output by 100%. With each added player monsters die quicker and present less of a challenge. Players mindlessly mow down hoards of monsters with little interaction.

2. The multiplayer loot system is brilliant but implemented wrong. The current system has a laundry list of complaints. Including loot ninjas, frustration, item text walls, latency, etc. The biggest issue is that the current brief timer kills the social aspect of parties. PoE's parties are the quietest groups that I have every played in. Players do not take the time to strategize or socialize because their only concern is what color the next item that drops is. Most of the items are vendor trash for the player claiming them.

So the current system kills the multiplayer aspect of co-op in exchange for inflation.
