Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" And basically we find ourselfs back that that start of the cycle. FFA Does not make grouping hositle. I don't feel im in a hostile enviroment when grouping. And im sure the majority of peoples who i've played with feel the same. It takes a certain kind of player with a certin perception of reality to feel "FFA makes grouping hostile". As it stands, every few games i run into somebody who goes on a wild entitled rant about an item dropping. Most of the time they just quit after expessing their rage. But others will nag, nag nag about it until the cows come home. Bust mostly, the majoriy just keep playing and move on to the next fight.. Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Jan 28, 2013, 12:40:05 PM

" Fair enough, I think it has more to do with the way some are presenting their opinions (demands) more than anything. I've seen too many potentially good games ruined this way (not that I think this will happen here). Last edited by MrRoundTree#5885 on Jan 28, 2013, 12:47:18 PM

While new to this particular game (and loving every minute of it so far), I, personally, dislike the FFA style of looting while in groups. Because of that dislike, I have chosen to play this game separate from everyone else and I still enjoy every bit of it as I learn the ropes of the game and continue to perfect my strategies.
Personally, I enjoy the idea of what Guild Wars 2 does with separate drops for each person that participated in the kill. Now, obviously, that's a MMO idea instead of an ARPG deal like this, Diablo, or what-have-you, but it was also a design decision by them because their entire idea was to have a playing experience revolve around not fighting over killing something but enjoying the dynamic aspects of grouping without having to go through all the hoops of other MMOs. Clearly, with this game's instanced areas, it's less of a deal as I can just venture out on my own without worry of someone else coming by and taking my item or killing the enemy I'm killing. It's also clear that their FFA direction for group item drops is a design decision, be it an old style one or not. It's just one more aspect, in a list of quite of few, that projects the state of this fictional world that we are struggling to survive in. |

FFA shouldnt be an issue if ppl werent a**hats btw :)
Like back in the days, when ppl actually had manners online (most still do!) The small timer is perfect, it will c*ckblock anyone that are actually looting for ninjapurpose. There is suppose to be a nice signature picture here

I am reaaally trying to understand this but I can't. Please tell me who are the people that enjoy focusing 24/7 to check if their name appear on an item so they can click it fast enough to get their loot? I just want to focus on playing the game and not on the looting.. you are killing the coop for casual players with this system.. you are really punishing people by giving their loot to others if they don't leave the whole fight and risk dying to click their loot on time? Haha so clicking loot is more important than focusing on killing the monsters? please explain to me the pros of this system except that it is a good system for people who has good latency and no life to take other players loot.. this is really a joke, first time i hear of this

" This is outright bullshit. I've joined way too many groups where the host has to say "NO NINJA LOOTING, don't be that guy!" or someone loses a good item and gets pissed off. This benefits only the griefers and no one else. Last edited by Zyrusticae#6262 on Jan 28, 2013, 1:09:21 PM

" Unless people are pick pocketing your inventory or robbing your stash they are NOT stealing 'your' loot. Items on the ground are not yours...Stop blamming ninjas for picking up loot in a FFA game. Just because items have your name on it does not make it yours. Its just a chance for you to get the item. Its not the items thats named its the TIMER thats been named. You only own the seconds ticking.. Not the items. Which is why loot timers/names should be removed. Even tho GGG means the best with it, it only brings out the worst in people. Your perception of the drop timer meaning "YOUR DROP" is clearly shared by like minded people. Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Jan 28, 2013, 1:17:54 PM

" ...Please.. Spare the drama. As if i have to justify my public games played to you. Hey, news flash. When a person like me doesn't care who gets the drop they focus on having fun instead. Unlike you.. Your perception is not like mine so of course you would focus on LOOOOOOT OMG LOOOT HE STOLE MY LOOT RAGGE!! Also....The term Ninja Looting is lame. Only players with entitlement issues use that term Last edited by Vooodu#7002 on Jan 28, 2013, 1:16:41 PM
