Also the idea that he "earned" the loot is ridiculous. Your claiming that the player didn't earn anything by being in the group and helping to kill Vaal? Really?

Right he didn't earn it. If people are racing there's always a loser, you are basically suggesting that everyone gets the same "good Try" medal. You think the last place racer didn't try? But I suppose he should get top prize and a trophy too?

The system favors more experienced players.

An experienced player can port in right before the boss kill and use the system to gain an unfair advantage over newer players.

Right now Worldbreaker you are trying to tell someone how they should feel; when you can't acknowledge their frustration.

I understand their frustration as I am as well. I absolutely hate the timer system and loved it the way it was before. It is a game though, we have little control over changes. The game was built on FFA loot, its like asking the Halo devs to add some terrorists to shoot instead.

So yes I share your frustration just not for the same identical reason.
With this system it's just not fun, that there are people who like this system I can not understand. There have been times where ninja looter were kicked out of the grp, but here one is educated to a ninja profits. Love the game mmorpg community makes NEN step back and not forward. Thank you and goodbye POE
So much for public games in Path of Exile.

I am suggesting that everyone earns the loot the same way whether in single player or multiplayer.....by killing the monsters and surviving. You perceive it as a race (I admit that appears to be what the designers intended). I respect that playstyle but the problem is that sooooo many players do not enjoy the race. We do not view the game as earning loot by racing to it. There is no race in single player and honestly I expect the same thing in parties.

Obviously, the looting issues are a big problem to a lot of players. If the developers do not come up with a way to keep the masses happy, the game is just going to die.

This really does concern me. If the game flourishes under this system then so be it, those of us who love the game a lot will stay and put up with it. But if the game starts dieing from it that is just unacceptable to us and the devs.

Can't stand this looting system. I did a pick up group with 5 other people to kill Vaal. ONE person ended up getting ALL the rare items even though they were not assigned to him. A combination of bad loot list mechanics(the list being more spread out than the screen space) and CONNECTION SPEED.

This loot system rewards greedy players who have the best ping.

Oooh Please....Spare everyone the drama.

I walked in on a boss kill, seconds after i joined the party and walked through a TP.

He had barely any life left. He litterally died a few seconds latter and i had 1 yellow and one unqiue with my name on it. Click CLick.

Mine.

How fair is that to everyone esle who actually fought the monster, killed it and got nothing. When alls i did was walk in and get the best drop, just because my name was on it.

If anything, that was not fair for me at all.. Loot timers should be removed. Everyone should have had a chance at that drop not just me.

So you exploited the public party system to jump into a group right before the boss kill? The behavior that you are proud of is the best illustration on why the loot system needs to be adjusted

I didn't 'exploit' anything.

I lagged out right before the boss kill in a pervious game.

Logged back on and found another game which was called "Kill Petys Pets TP UP".

...Don't really see the issue here? Besides me being totally lucky with the loot timer and gettting an unfair drop.

Derp.

So if a melee character picks up a wand or some other caster item with a witch in the grp, this faggotry is encouraged? lawl pathetic...

Yes it is, I am farming for 3 characters at the moment.
FFA is just inviting drama. Just do as you should in most games, play with friends or play solo.

Pubs have always and will always be a terrible way to play games.
pathetic excuse

FFA is perfect if everyone is playing that way. Also Gnarley, if I pubstomp with people for awhile I do give them upgrades on occasion. Eventually you will all understand even though there is partying, the core of the game comes down to bragging rights. You try to get better and better gear. There is no kumbaya mentality in games like this. Why do people sell good gear instead of giving it to those in need?

I have a lot of friends in here that feel the same way. It is not something easily fixed by longer timers or instanced loot, someone will always lose on it as it is an opinion on what is best. If they did as most suggested the other half of the community would post in here saying "good job bending over for the noobs". Not saying any way is right but if the devs put a mechanic in place and have stood their ground on it, I believe this is the way it should be played.

When I was new I absolutely hated it, we didn't even have timers! Over time I developed a love hate relationship with it and that to me is amazing. It is in essence the same concept as rolling items, a chance you take.
