FFA is perfect if everyone is playing that way. Also Gnarley, if I pubstomp with people for awhile I do give them upgrades on occasion. Eventually you will all understand even though there is partying, the core of the game comes down to bragging rights. You try to get better and better gear. There is no kumbaya mentality in games like this. Why do people sell good gear instead of giving it to those in need?

I have a lot of friends in here that feel the same way. It is not something easily fixed by longer timers or instanced loot, someone will always lose on it as it is an opinion on what is best. If they did as most suggested the other half of the community would post in here saying "good job bending over for the noobs". Not saying any way is right but if the devs put a mechanic in place and have stood their ground on it, I believe this is the way it should be played.

When I was new I absolutely hated it, we didn't even have timers! Over time I developed a love hate relationship with it and that to me is amazing. It is in essence the same concept as rolling items, a chance you take.

There is other thing branging rights, trading and ninja do not put them in the same sack.
Also this is no where near greed/need mechanic and even that is superior than ffa.
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

How can someone ninja if you are playing with a loot timer? Also that "ninja" has the same set of rules that you do.

Ok so you say bragging rights isn't the same as trading, if you aren't going to brag then just give it away. I mean your trading to better your character, right?

I will never play instanced loot in a party and longer timers will just make farming zones take that much longer!

Also the idea that he "earned" the loot is ridiculous. Your claiming that the player didn't earn anything by being in the group and helping to kill Vaal? Really?

Right he didn't earn it. If people are racing there's always a loser, you are basically suggesting that everyone gets the same "good Try" medal. You think the last place racer didn't try? But I suppose he should get top prize and a trophy too?

Can we please ingame facts why ffa is better? Do not use irl facts to defend the loot system seriously it is old (use car examples next time they are funnier, like why ask vw to build cars like Mercedes?)

To your ingame example now.
I participate in the boss kill, I used my character, my skills and I moved when I had to this translates to effort ok?
Now comes the reward for the effort.. Oh wait I must have mouse clicking skills, low latency and be near boss (either more mouse clicking skills if I am ranger or reroll melee) and if I am the best in all that I get rewarded.. See where I am going?

The effort/reward ratio is out of the jack seriously there are myriads of games that will reward me for the effort I putted in the game not for my other out of the game skills.

You brag on a seller when you buy a cheap hamburger? Seriously gt some facts straight... What else we will hear for the defense of ffa?

So if a melee character picks up a wand or some other caster item with a witch in the grp, this faggotry is encouraged? lawl pathetic...

Yes it is, I am farming for 3 characters at the moment.

haha it's true, loving my melee templar so much crap drops right in front of me
The problem I have with this is that it promotes loot gathering while still in combat, which can lead to players dying because suddenly they don't have support for a few seconds.
This can be especially bad if you have a pre-made party, ie not a random public one but with people you know. While you can argue that if you're friends it shouldn't be a problem, I still think it poses a problem that gets in the way of team play which why parties are formed in the first place: to experience something fun together, not to try and get in the way of the fun of your friend. With a global stash there really isn't a useless item that is decent even though not for the class you're currently playing because you can easily keep it for whenever you start a new class.

If you don't plan on changing any of that, at least add in an additional text letting people know that the item was given from a mob that was killed by a certain player. Or a "history" line saying to which player said item was allocated when it dropped. This way I think friends and people who aren't a**holes won't get in the way. This way you can clear a whole screen or level of monsters and then just go back and check which item was allocated to who while everyone can still pick any item they want.

Also, it may be just me but I find it hard to read the greyed out text while the timer is still active so I'll be trying to get an item I may or may not want or have space for at the moment. Which takes my focus away from the battle. Not to mention that holding ALT or using Z adds more clutter on the screen in active fights.

I can run from one corner of vaals room to the other side before the timer goes off and my ping is pretty bad @160.

If you die cause someone else is picking up loot then perhaps you need a respec. This to me is exciting, I laugh everytime someone runs through a mob to die for a jeweler.

Professional gamers go to tournaments and give their effort their skills and their time to win a tournament. Not all of them are given something either, but they did have the opportunity to get something, it was offered for a time but they didn't get a prize due to someone else being better, faster and/or smarter.

I couldn't quote you all, at work atm on my phone.

That analogy fails. If you go to a tournament and win that's like going and killing a boss. In a tournament you do not have to compete for the reward after the game has been won.
They deserve it because they were closer to the item and clicked on it first. Tell me more about how this makes sense. Utterly disgusting loot behavior.

I've had many items with my name on it. I proceed to run over and click on it with my name still on it and a marauder trots over and scoops it up. They were caster items.

Cool story tho

I feel like i'm talking to religious people, the logic is ever so circular and makes no sense.

Seriously I told you to use car examples!!!!

If I want to go lay tournament in can go play to a tournament unless you mean that playing Poe every day is a tournament itself... In that case where is my $$ prize? I see none only ggg asks for my $$
