Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 Timeline

If there is one thing I'd hope for in 0.5.0 is making it easier to level up to 100 max. I've played a LOT this league with many, many days of 12+ hours all with the goal of making it to 100. I'm currently lvl 97 and highly doubt I'll make it to 100 before the new league. The amount of required xp to get the last 3 or 4 levels is so huge that it becomes a grind instead of a fun time.

All that said, I've never play PoE 1 but I am wondering if it plays the same in regards to gaining max level?

Its the same or at least it was the last time I played, the goal is to never die, if your dying even once at level 97 its basically a full reset. It's designed to be difficult, its designed so you have to get better gear (sometimes not just dps but survivability also) in order to not die.

Then you just map, map, map and map and avoid any affixes that has any chance of killing you.
We are getting impatient...
I don't really care that the patch gets delayed 1 or 2 weeks (would suck atm).

I just want it to be good and get that "wow" moment during the announcement, like in 0.3, where GGG blows my mind for more than hour of crazy new changes :)














Then patch notes comes out with all the nerfs and everyone crys about it :D
Looking at the player power right now this league, i hope patchnotes are full of nerfs for endgame power. Campaign feels ok, although little bit too easy.

Reaching Level 100 isn‘t required but aspirational and it should absolutely stay this way imho. I‘ve reached max level this league by mapping only (T16 waystones, pack size on both waystones and atlas tree, increased experience, increased monster effectiveness) and by completely omitting the temple.

Sorry to say that and please don’t take this personally, but if you haven‘t managed to level up to at least 98 despite playing as many hours as you‘ve mentioned, then I have to assume your build isn‘t up to the task defensively because you‘re - again, assuming - running a full glasscannon build. The most important thing to remember when xp farming for level 100 is to never die. That means unspec some of the extreme overkill damage nodes in your skill tree and allocate defensive nodes instead. If you oneshot everything before, you will still trivialise almost any given content and die less often. Also, the amount of xp isn‘t the problem, it‘s not much more than is required to get from 97 to 98. It‘s the penalty applied to xp gained you suffer in the high level 90‘s since you are so over-leveled compared to the maximum possible area/monster level (which is 82 - 83 for abyssal depths, 84 if you get very lucky with the keystone atlas node).

It took me approximately 2 weeks to level from 99 to 100 (I have a full-time job)- it‘s a slow grind, but unless someone‘s willing to put in the hours, I don‘t think max level should be attainable, especially since those last 2-3 points aren’t anywhere build-defining (or at least I hope so for anyone creating a build).

Early Access leagues? What?! I really hope that doesnt mean theyre not gonna go to standard when full game release

the game won't 'go to standard' on release, it will be the same as it is now. a new league and wipe and a standard league. economy resets and new mechanics is a core loop of the game.

Meant I dont want separate "EA Standard"

The way it sounds like what GGG has said about what happens when full release hits (patch 1.0) is this:

Right now we have
- EA Standard
- EA Newest League

When 1.0 launches, we have
- EA Standard
- Standard
- Newest League

Which means that everything that is done during early access will have its own separate standard and there will be totally fresh standard and new league for when the game full release with free to play. So early access is treated as "beta test with its own beta test realm". However, GGG has also said that they don't know yet for sure, so things can change.


You like to spread misinformation, yeah? There will not be EA Standard... There will be one standard when the games releases and that's it..
