OK so leveling is over lol

To get to 100 I had to avoid a lot of things and it was not fun. I realise now it was more of a job than a challenge.

I once asked Tenkiei if he had gotten a character to 100 (in PoE1). He said yes, he did it once, and he's never doing it again. And he might be the biggest PoE nerd in the world. That's the conversation that convinced me to stop at 94.

Just stop at 94 (or I guess 96 is the PoE2 94), and roll a new character.

POE1 lvl96 to lvl100 was a lot faster when I played. Have several lvl100s there. POE2 lvl96 to lvl100 feels like it takes a lot longer. lvl99 to lvl100 is like 150hrs to 200hrs of grinding maps I think. At 5hrs a day that's like a full month for the last level.

I'll do it after 1.0 when the performance issues will be fixed (hopefully).

Now imagine : you are 97, you die twice on a map because of a stupid unbalanced Abyssal mod, which never happens in other scenarios. But that's it, you died twice and lost 2 bars, even with omens in inventory. With my proposal, even with as things stand, you would lose half a bar. You are punished for dying but you keep progressing and your mental health is unharmed.

I don't need to imagine it. I have played characters to 100. I don't think you understand that half a bar on lvl 99 is the equivalent of 10+ t16 6mod maps fully juiced with mob density and triple tablets for mob density. And those are freaking expensive. If you run just regular 6 mod t15 maps it's the equivalent of at least 20-30 maps. It doesn't change anything.
The gring to 100 in and off itself without xp loss requires already an absurd amount of xp. You need to dedicate hundreds of hours to it without xp loss. Additionally having xp loss does nothing but add a layer of time wasting. Punishment for punishments sake.
