[Feedback] Giga-Nerf Gem Levels on Gear in Patch 0.4.0

We can mostly agree that the balance following Patch 0.3.0 is not in a good spot. One of the largest contributing factors is the insane gem levels found on gear and needs to be toned way down. Another unfortunate side effect of gear having insane gem levels is it invalidates the vast majority of uniques and also makes crafting one-dimensional as items without gem levels is mostly invalidated. This nerf tones down the baseline power of players, which is healthy for the game as it lacks challenge. With that said, I urge GGG to nerf max gem levels found on gear as follows:

* 2H-Mace, Crossbow, Staff, QStaff: Decrease to +5 Max Gem Levels (down from +7)
* 1H-Mace, Bow, Wand: Decrease to +3 Max Gem Levels (down from +5)
* Amulet: Decrease to +2 Max Gem Levels (down from +3)
* Quiver: Decrease to +1 Max Gem Levels (down from +2)
* Gloves: Decrease to +1 Max Gem Levels (down from +2)




What if they keep amulets, quivers and gloves as is but change the rest like you suggested? +skill ranks is one of my favorite mods 😭
weapons should have +1/+1, just like amulets.

No Plus 3, no plus 4, no plus 5...

+1 all +1 element on weapons, same with amulet -- the end.

Skill levels are what make the game zero challenge. In POE 1 there is no more than +2 except on bows (+3) for weapons, and +2 on amulet. That's a +1 all, +1 Elemental

Hunh? I had lvl 38 gems on my dagger build. Lol.In Poe1.
I'd personally like if they just killed off the stat entirely or limited it so it so a perfect roll on gear only gave you maybe a 20% power boost so it's a chase state for min/maxing but not something that makes 90% of all gear trash.

I'd be even happy to see them remove all +levels off non-unique gear, and unique gear with +levels should have large downsides for the level boost.
I think ALL gear should give you a hefty minus to everything. If you max rolled all six rolls, it would be zero penalty. One fuck up and down we go.

They should really tone down +skills on all equipment to be honest.

To me this barely changes anything, + skills will still be the most sought-after mod for most builds

This.

The only way to make +level mods not be valuable is to delete them, but boost the base stats of all gems across the board to compensate.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
