This game has a similar problem as d3- it's impossible to get good items without trading
Now I know that there's a few people out there who are self-found that have managed to get pretty far, but let's be real here, without a certain amount of luck, and an insanely great amount of time, most people would never get great items. I am not just talking about 6-links (which are practically impossible to find without trading) but many uniques, and even currency. I don't recall exactly when I started to play (sometime in the winter of 2011-2012) but in all that time I've gotten I think 3 exalts, and a pitiful amount of orbs of fusing (maybe 20-30 total) and maybe 10-15 GCPs. With the prices being what they are it would take me...oh.. 2-3 years to be able to buy say a Lioneye's Glare?
But basically, my main point is this: I know this game is multiplayer and all, but it -should- be possible to fare well (for most people) without having to do tons of trading, or playing for a ridiculous amount of time. I really like this game, but am playing less and less, because I know that eventually I'll reach a glass ceiling- I won't have the currency to buy things to get me further, and actually finding them on my own will be practically impossible. All this game has done is change the "Auction House" to the "trading chat", it's barely more interactive, and you get cheated more, because people will ask ridiculous prices to their items- The good point of an auction house is that people see how much an item costs, and can sell theirs a bit cheaper so people can actually buy them, and the people buying them can make sure they aren't over-paying. Recently, in default trade chat, I've seen a constant flow of the same 10 or so people selling great items like Kaom's for example, and nobody is buying them, do you know why? Because everyone that had tons of time to play the game (or multibox) already has one, and the price is impossible to reach for everyone else. Something needs to be done so that the game's better items are available for the people that don't have as much time, are less lucky, or just don't want to wait hours for a good deal. Part of the fun in ARPGs is to actually find that awesome item, too bad this game, like D3, has made this almost impossible. Last edited by Yerond#1010 on May 16, 2013, 5:19:58 PM

Not impossible. If you don't like trading then don't trade. Problem solved. If you want to find good quick upgrades all by yourself go play an MMO. There. All your problems are solved.

" my problem is not with trading itself, it's that without it, I, on my own, will likely never find top tier items |

I've beaten the entire game gotten to 75 and done many maps all self found solo play. I don't have anything over a 4L and none of my gear would probably even be worth much of anything on a trade market as its marginal. You can do it without trading if you really want to :)

" Yes, I realized when I finished my topic that I had mis-named the topic, of course you could probably get max level, even without great items, but part of the fun (at least for me) is finding those great items, and here, it is made almost impossible |

Nonsense. It's impossible to enjoy yourself once you start trading. Don't trade and the game is fine.

" I would if the great items were more accessible. |

Look if you play long enough top tier items will drop. But the game is random. It's unlikely that even if you do find a top tear item that it will be for your build. Take that luck you just had and turn it into an item you actually wanted through trading. I don't see why that's such a big deal.
ps. you should change your topic to it's impossible to get GG items without trading and see how many people come in here to flame you. Last edited by haplessGOONtv#7077 on May 16, 2013, 5:12:28 PM

" If the great items were more accessible there would be no point in continuing to play. Just how long do you think your 'fun' would continue if you knew there was no upgrades to any of your equipment ever to be found? | |
" Wasn't that his point? |
