Unless you can prove that wands are biased to roll caster mods, I call BS.
TLDR - just skip to the bottom and look at the garbage wands can roll and see what actually works for spells and what doesnt. :( The inherent stat of 'spell damage' of a wand is obviously the main reason to use a wand over another caster weapon. The other options have 80% global crit chance (dagger) or 10~20% elemental damage (sceptre) which makes them slightly worse to way better than spell damage for most 'spell' builds. When deciding on wands vs dagger/sceptres consider that you can mix and match your sceptres/daggers, effectively doubling your potential weapon pool (easier to find/roll/buy them). If its not clear already - You cannot wear your 110% spell damage wand with your 110% elemental damage mace/dagger.... One generally overlooked point about using wands is to get the mod Projectile Speed which DOES NOT ROLL on both sceptres or daggers (this is why I use wands). Also, Cast speed only rolls on wands and sceptres, not daggers... however the 80% crit chance on a dagger can more than make up for that (assuming your build is crit reliant and not cast speed reliant). Another could be the too high STR/DEX requirement of daggers/sceptres. We all know it is too easy to get base stats in this game, especially if stats are the difference between having 3 weapons to pick out of instead of 1. Currently we have 9/14 prefixes that do not help casters in any way possible, 6/20 suffixes do not help casters in any way possible. I've included LoK, MoK and resistances as 'helpful stats' even though they are detrimental (in terms of rolling offensive stats), because they can 'be used' at least passively whilst using spells. And Here is the kicker guys - Projectile speed/Cast Speed are both suffixes. Dunno what the chances of rolling "spelldmg/proj speed/cast speed" are considering you only get 2 suffixes/2 prefixes on average (exalting random wands is not a valid option here, lets get real) ALL Possible Wand Modifiers.

" Congrats... You are now a new member of the "Crafting is broken in PoE" club. Read a post yesterday of some one burning through 2500 fusings and not getting a 6L armor. RNG is RNG but come on GGG! There is no way in {you know what} that 1000s of crafting gems should be needed to get the crafting done. Posts like these are becoming all too commonplace and that is very, very wrong. I hope GGG is reading this and other similar posts and making changes! When will the developer insanity end! Sorry you wore out your mouse button. GGG has solved (screwed) that for me so it won't happen by imposing a loot drop quantity penalty on solo players so I'll never ever have enough fusings or chromatics to be in a position to wear out my mouse button. As someone who has gambled far to much on wands (well over 20k alts, 3-400 regal, and probably 50-75 exalts), I can attest that wands are a bitch to craft. Also, when using alts on wands, certain prefixes/suffix have affinities to each other. Example: I alt my wand, it rolls just a suffix, cast speed (no prefix rolled). So I use augment orb. Guess what I get as a prefix over 70% of the time? Flat lightning damage. This is over a HUGE sample size. And there are a bunch more examples. Rolled a nice spell damage prefix? Well, if it didn't roll +attack speed, when you augment it will (probably). I think they designed it to where if you roll caster mods, you have higher change to roll physical/melee mods after and vice versa. BTW, these are the 2 best wands I've crafted so far, and their are better one's out there:

I would really like to see wands split into attack wands and spell wands. Wands have the highest affix pool by far (it's ridiculous their affix pool compared to something like bows). The only things worse are sceptres/staffs.
