The funny thing is POE 2 is the easy kids game. It's like babies first ARPG, these players would shit themselves fighting the maven or sirus.

Everybody can see the player numbers, how useless the trading, and the ssf too. The full endgame is pointless and worthless.
Its just really sad, some players still say the game in the good direction, and the vision not that bad.

Yep, its gonna be like me when I saw how LE actually has QOL and doesn't have random punishing mechanics that take away all your progress. I was like "a fun arpg can exist in [current year]? No way"

3.26 is gonna have a new record peak that's for sure.
The reason for the drop in players is that you will eventually read a block in gear progression because everything is RNG. I got to lvl 94 with my ritualist fire mage which i enjoyed a lot and got most gear to have 2-3 traits that I want.

That has happened before i ever managed to get most of the pinnacle content multiple times.

Meaning now i only need gear that have 3+ good traits at a good tier, this is incredibly RNG since I play SSF and will never play trade since at that point you might just rmt the most broken gear and stop playing anyway cuz there's nothing better to go for

My english really not the best, so sorry for that.
RNG ? In Poe1, everything was rng. Sure, we had way more possibility to craft, but still, rng. Thats can't be a problem in Arpg.
But in Poe1, if I like the Cemetery map, take this to the favoured maps, farm them, and go.
How can I go more good maps in Poe2, and skip the hated maps, like Vaal Factory ? No way.
In Poe1, if I farm Breach, and its start to be boring? Change the atlas talent, use the map device, and go, other mechanics.
In Poe2 ? Need to find another place with 2-3 towers. How much maps I need to clear, until I find 2-3 towers ? A lot. Lot of empty, weak maps. If I'm unlucky, lot of Vaal Factory, Mire, etc.
In Poe1, if I want some fun with Sirus ? Use the citadel maps, they are dropping from monsters. Poe2-Find citadels, jesus.
In one season, how much maps I need to clear in Poe2, without towers, without possibility to skip maps. We have one type tablets now to skip maps. Its still a bad joke.
Why they not start the game from zero ? Totally new mechanics, what we not even see in Poe1. They start the 0.1 with breach, strongboxes. Strongbox, wtf ? Now unique strongbox, quality of life patch to the strongbox, whyyyy ? Why they can't forget this idiot mechanic ?
EA? What this mean ?
The EA mean, we have a basic game, later come some new class, new mechanics, etc.
What is the basic game in Poe2 ? This really bad map system ? Where we spend 90% of our playtime, where we can't skip maps, or better way to make juicy maps.
If really this map system the basic game, then the game is fundamentally bad. And need to be very blind, to not see, in every season, find citadels, corrupted maps, towers, to make some good maps, really really not enjoyable.

A great undertaking, meaningful combat + h&s mob size + rpg depth. IF they succeed, it will be the ultimate arpg.

Rest of your points is just various ways of saying that you don't like how the sandbox aspect is cut. I'd prefer more freedom as well, but they go for more personality in the classes, as opposed to flying carpet boomzoom whatever vehicle.

Well you are in the 3% to 5% that like the game.

Citation needed.

Serious one please though, instead of an absurd like counting mid early access patch league-like concurrent vs all time peak on first release to public, to arrive at a number of people that like the game.

Totally agree!

PoE 2 Atlas is pretty boring, convoluted and gives players ZERO agency on how to personalize their own time spent to have fun. Ok, I understand GGG made a rush job to include endgame on "EA" because players would be mad with just campaing and they didn't want to PoE 2 to be as same as PoE 1, but PoE 1 Atlas is lightyears better - favored maps, Uber chase, mechanics personalization - just much better.

If it was just gonna be an exact copy then there would be no point in making it.

He's not asking for an exact copy, he mentioned a new campaign, a graphical overhaul, a refined endgame etc

In any case, how dumb must a company be to have an absolute winner of a game, decide to make a sequel to it and then replace everything in that sequel that was nigh perfect in the original, by something clearly inferior ?
If they really wanted to test completely different systems even though they in many respects already had the perfect one, and add it to a new game, then how hard was it to realize that giving that sequel the same name as POE was an incredibly bad idea that would generally be despised ?
Of course people expect what they loved about POE1 to be found again in POE2.
While some may always complain on release that not much has changed or of things being too similar, they most likely still would've played it to bits.
Innovation is such a cancerous term in the gaming industry.
All these companies always trying to innovate, innovate on much awaited sequels while all the vast majority of their fans only wanted, was more of the same, mostly with a new lick of paint.
I lost count of the hundreds of games companies have 'innovated' to death.
And for decades now ... The stupidity is mind-boggling to me.
If you want to innovate, how hard is it to come up with a new name and not tarnish beloved franchises ?
And in the meantime, they could then also create worthy successors with much less effort that would in all likelihood be widely loved.

And while other companies limit the impact of such incredilous decisions by charging a purchase price, i'd guess mistakes like that will have far more impact when your business model and revenue is closely tied to customer good-will (free-to-play).

In short, Agreed with OP. Everything in POE 2 is so much worse while it didn't need to be. At all

Not to cut out all the meat, but speak homie!

I really really wouldn't mind different, but they intentionally by design made everything more tedious, and just "worse" for the sake of apparently making it worse.

The only thing I see POE 2 players want is an extremely easy game with no downsides, no loses, no experiences losses, and builds that exclusively 1 shot top content -- AKA, they want Diablo 4 2.0

Hilariously, if you log into POE 1 you'll spot a bunch of bored POE 2 noobs being like "what the fuck this game is much better what did GGG do?" lol. The moment these noobs load up POE 1 they realize there is already a much better, more challenging, more fun, and more interesting ARPG on the market -- it's POE 1. Always has been.

You're completely lost in your delusions. Can you name even one person in this thread asking for an easier game with no downsides? People are telling you directly — the game isn't hard, it's just dumb and boring. The crafting is pure RNG hell, all the content is ripped straight from POE1 with zero changes — and of course, it's the most hated parts. GGG apparently has developer amnesia and is repeating every mistake they've made over the last 10 years. The acts are artificially stretched, endgame was murdered in patch 0.2. But sure, tell me more about how we just want Diablo 4.2.

After patch 0.2, everything that was remotely fun got trampled. Any build variety? Gone. Playing by GGG's “intended rules” has been debunked in a hundred threads — you simply can't parry a thousand mobs rushing you from all directions. Bloated mob HP and neutered player damage doesn’t make the game Soulslike, and it certainly doesn’t make it difficult. Lords of the Fallen and The Surge already proved that point
