LOOT is the issue
Since the last patch, no one is getting any drops and if they are it is rare as..
Nearly all the serious player base i know has moved to Last Epoch. The player base is down massively. The game is in Beta but my memory is of a really enjoyable game that is now like wading through treacle. No drops, therefore minimal trade and progression options. The reason most are giving up. It is such an easy fix before everyone gives up on it. As mentioned, I know it is beta but if this issue is not sorted out soon, i believe many will not return as the memory will be really bad. Before this thread gets hijacked by the tiny minority that believe this is a crafting issue or it is not a problem. I believe i am speaking for the majority. As a footnote. I am running T15 max precursers juiced towers and waystones. Item Quantity, rarity, monster packs and rare monsters. Standard farming atlas tree. Running water swamp and grass biomes. Gear has 130% rarity. Not even a greater jewellers orb and certainly no Divine drops since last patch. Stopped banging head against wall yesterday and will wait for a fix if ever. There are many levers to be pulled to balance a good single player experience, there is even room to add a good trade system. Poe2 is not far from that, imo. But for some weird reason they just install a new lever every time something goes off the rails.

It's not the drops that are bad. If you turn off any filters you have and look at what actually drops, it seems fine.
The problem is the rarity requirement is too high to give variance and produce as many rares as should be expected for the investment. It feels like you need to run 200% to even get the drops you would expect from the risk/reward. |

I had, from a level 80 map with:
(from tablet) + boss rarity around 40% +normal rarity around 10% +boss quant ~10% +normal quant +8% +60% rarity on waystone mod +95% waystone quant on waystone +80% IIR on gear +15% IIR from golden charm The boss dropped *absolutely nothing* from item filter, one white base when I turned it off, no waystones, no currency, nothing I realise this was a one-off and not normal, but IMO this should be technically impossible, there should always be a floor * this was the rattlegore boss, can't remember the map, crimson shore I think Last edited by Strangehill#1736 on Apr 28, 2025, 6:55:01 AM

Yeah i agree but also i've gathered all the rares no rare is worth more than 1ex.
I always take rare with minimal lootfilter hiding only whites, 5000+ rares i've only sold maybe 5 that are 1ex. Not even 1 piece of equipment i use came from drops i got. Game is balanced around crafting, but its always better to buy instead of craft and that's the main problem. POE2 is becoming POE1 with more punishing mechanics like dying in maps. |

But this is where I feel nobody talks about what Jonathan said himself in an intrrview about RARITY. He said something along the lines about GGG not feeling players should feel like they must stack rarity to get the drops they need. My reaction to that was YES this sounds great because rarity replaces more useful suffixes... and the other thought was drops should be fluffed as a result of the statement made. Instead what we got was boring AF currency drops. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me 100th time uninstall.

" Who are you, and what kind of "serious player base" you know? Last person who wrote this turned out that he is a part of the fan girls club that follow one particular streamer like puppies... And I wouldn't call this guy "serious player base". If anything, I actually am grateful that such people move away from this game. |

I would not normally respond to a Troll reply but you have given me a justifiable bump to the original post. Thanks.
I also wondered how long it would take for someone to act like this. I never claimed to be part of the serious player group. I know a fair few as friends. With regards to POE2, I am that average player that makes up the majority of the player base. You want people like me to stop playing then you are not acting in the best interest of this game. LOOT is the issue. It stops all progression. |

If you play an efficient and good build, you won't find any issue with loot. Loot become an "issue" when you play a slow, tedious, and inefficient build that walk slow and clear map slow. Also, not reaching endgame maps by at least on 3rd day on league start.
Everyone that play efficient and fast build, or META build, and reaching endgame maps before week 1 or even at least day 3 or 4, have no issue with loot at all. While its true there is less loot, but its not really a problem because it affects everyone. Meaning, if you are able to establish market power early, have access to content that generate more and better quality loot, you can take advantages of slow players. The game still just designed the same like PoE 1 but much more extreme. Be fast, be efficient. The game heavily favors speed, efficiency, and the no-lifer / un-employed gaming style. But, should the game keep being like this ? Absolutely not. Last edited by bewilder2#0356 on Apr 28, 2025, 7:38:49 AM
