Let's hope they will make this game great then.
Well so far it's only been downhill. Unless big changes happen nothing good will come of this mess.
I don't agree with you.

This is actually one of the best points I have read.
I think that, in short, the idea to have a "ruthless" game in POE 2 was a good one. At the end of the day there is no point in having POE1 and POE2 offer the same experience. If they are the same you just need the one.
I dislike POE 2, and a lot, but I don't mind because I love POE 1. I'll play POE 1 and let people with a different taste enjoy what POE 2 offers.
Where GGG messed up is when they realized that POE 2 doesn't appeal to a lot of the fans that come over from POE 1 and newer players and tried ( and failed ) to fix that. They allocated resources meant for POE 1 live service to POE 2 to make unplanned and undertested changes to POE 2 to accomodate complaints from players that will never like the ruthless game POE 2 is bound to be. Know your target audience.
People say they are too stubborn. If only that were true. If only they stuck to their guns and didn't make changes they didn't initially want to and kept POE 2's core systems. Instead they tried to change a lot of the unpopular mechanics to a lot of more casual players and slap on a bunch of nerfs to player power and loot to try and obtain their target amount of "friction".
They should have kept to the vision more profusely and only made changes that fit that vision. They should have kept to the promised POE 1 cycle and clearly communicated that POE 1 would remain as it was and offered a fast paced experience and POE 2 would be a methdical and ruthless experience.
Now they are flailing around making changes for people that will never like what POE 2 was meant to be while at the same time neglecting the established game that made them what they are today.
Like OP said. Make up your mind. Stick to your vision and keep your promises.
This is one of the better responses I’ve read in a while. You nailed the core issue: PoE2 lost the plot trying to please everyone. Vision drift, mixed messaging, alienating both sides—agreed.
But your line about OP? Yeah… that ain’t it.
Their frustration is valid, but their post goes off the rails the moment it starts swinging at people instead of the design. Once you go down the “who’s the villain,” “I wanna see your face when you die” road, any point you had just gets tossed out.
You didn’t need to co-sign that.
You made the better argument—because you kept it about the idea, not the person.

Well, please don't forget the devs have to deal with a lot of toxic behaviour from the community and still stay professional. I respect that.

it seems people think that ruthless poe2 is a smart move.
poe1 ruthless was a complete failure nobody wanted to play it the idea is niche.
basing the game on a mode that nobody wanted to play in the 1st game is a bad idea for the future of the game period.
you may like the sound of it, but you are a minority no matter how you look at it.
if poe2 want to go ruthless make it a separate game mode. vision this vision that. at the end of the day a game that only caters to a small group makes a small amount of money and struggles to keep its playerbase up. its bad for everyone in the end.
niche games are best as solo experiences. there is a reason for that.

I don't think PoE 2 tries to be PoE 1 ruthless. I also don't think they try to cater to a small part of the community. Maybe if they gave in to the demands of the review bombers and streamers that would actually become true.

the review bombers are actually making good points if you read there paragraphs. by all means ignore the bombs that are game bad.
nobody rights a big ol negative review after playing for 900 hours because they hate the game. they do it because they are concerned with the direction, and so am i.
i have not logged into the game in over 3 days.
i would love to play but there is literally nothing to chase, and for the time invested i dont feel rewarded in the slightest.
im worried about this and if you post your concerns here you get attacked.
thats probably why the review bombing started.

I don't think you get attacked if you post valid criticism. I have had the feeling you get attacked for discussing and not agreeing with the people who call PoE 2 the Vision TM.

and i have the feeling you are one of those THE VISION people lmfao.
yes i dont feel THE VISION is THE VISION as THE VISION is meh.
it pointless discussing anything with a THE VISION cultists :P
when you can explain how get good scrub is a good answer to criticism i will remove my negative review and move on with my life and not care about poe2 anymore.
i mean we are both here on the forums instead of playing. that speaks volumes as to how good the current state of the game is.

Most of the critiques of the game, that i've seen, are something that is skill based and yes...get good scrub should be response to that.
There are also, valid critiques of the game that when posted in a sane, rational, and respectful manner are usually well received by the community. ITs when you get 99% of the critiques are "this game sucks" and/or my favorite one "I've a POE 1 veteran so I know whats best for POE "
Its also a shocker to me that people keep saying "the vision" as some weird retort. yes, the people who are WORKING 40+ hours a week should be able to decide the direction and VISION of the game. The people who use "The Vision" like you just did. Have never and I mean never built anything substantial in their entire lives before.

i dont read anything you type honestly, you try to pass yourself off as one of the rational people while saying get good scrub. its not a good look.
