Please make the campaign harder

" Well you would find it hard enough on hardcore. Softcore is for casual players with limited time to play. You asking to make it harder is a big FU both to the majority of SC players and HC players who may find the game difficult enough as it is because they won't be "dying multiple times in the same zone" they'd die once and be sent back to the beach. " I think it's a little silly to make a bunch of "I could" statements around the difficulty of the game. The only thing that matters is whether or not you did; but, regardless of that, I wouldn't say the campaign is "difficult". What I will say after having gotten like 5 characters through the campaign and 3 into the 70s/80s, is that often times there's no indication that something isn't working in your build or that your gear has fallen behind too much for the act you're on. On my most recent character act 1 wasn't too bad killed the count on try #2, act 2 also didn't go too bad though there were some times early where I'd be doing okay and then just pop to like a mini-boss but then it was no longer a problem....until Jamanra. I died like 15 or so times to him, I upgraded a few pieces of gear with like the 3 exalts I had, I changed my build up entirely, and continued dying to him; eventually, I just loaded iceshard bolts and killed him on the first try. Then I switched back to my old build in act 3 and had mostly no trouble again. Moreover, if you do hit a bit of a wall, there isn't a good way to tell what exactly the problem is. Is it my defences? Is my weapon just too bad? Did I pick weak passives? Did I pick a weak skill to build around? Are the supports for my skills actually rubbish? There are too many instances where there's essentially no sign things are out of line until you suddenly get stuck. I had a similar thing happen on release with my warrior in act 1, spent 3 hours trying to beat the count. Again, the answer to my problems wasn't even gear related, it's that the skills were largely meh. I eventually just equipped Resounding Shield and did nothing but stand in 1 spot the whole fight almost. Routinely when I run into some hardship like that, the answer to the problem is almost always unsatisfying. |
