Loot Drops are unrewardingly low

I was just thinking that they seem to have tweaked drops. Im still in the campaign on cruel and I have seen rare monsters drop a white flask and that's it.

They changed something and didn't tell us. I feel like they said fine, we will fix this and that, but they took half the loot away.

You know, stuff like this is more often tinfoil stuff, BUT in this case, GGG already did such a thing in the past.
They heavily nerfed loot and didn't tell us until the community gathered enough data to say "GGG, we can prove that something is wrong - what have you changed!?", so GGG had to come out and tell us that they "oopsi whoopsi, we changed drop rates UwU, but the changes are not so huge - you only have a wRoNg feeling about it - it's not that bad trololol".
Yeah... only "not so bad" that we caught you in 4k.

I remember this, it would be crazy for them to do that again. I was somewhat hoping that the sweeping slow down for everything other than huntress just made the poor drops feel even worse. But, I wouldn't be surprised if their 'shooting from the hip' style of development someone oopsied drops just like minion health and damage at start of 0.2.

They have to have data by now of the overall drop rates. Maybe from a macro level it looks fine but its just an extremely large range of experience for players? Thats my copium at least.
Exactly. That's the reason they removed crafting for runes. More inventory management less loot

I farmed a nexus map with 247% rarity and the result. The map boss only dropped 1 vaal orb. It was very funny.

Yeah, haha, truly hilarious.. who needs loot when ruthless has always been the end goal for these games.

Legit? I didn't know this.... that's crazy. Why they lie about it?

Who knows. It's a bit ago, and I don't remember the league exactly, could be "Lake of Kalandra" or something.
They said something like "Nah ah, wasn't a huge nerf, thus we thought it's not worth mentioning bla" while it was a huge nerf, you know... when the entire community recognises a change, it is. Especially because we can do the math too.

As much as I like GGG, they had a couple fuck ups... this shadow nerf, the streamer queue... and constant gaslighting the community to push their "vision" (Archnemesis *cough*).

Yes and no.

If you look at their "mistakes" in isolation - they are really bad,
BUT GGG is generally a great studio. They communicate more than most other devs with the community, awesome interviews with deep insight, they give us a lot of information and so on.
They build up a lot of "player trust", so they can use this "trust" to "tank" some of it from time to time with their mistakes, and we forgive them.
It only becomes problematic when it feels like they go too far with a return that doesn't match.

I can't speak for the entire community, but personally, they're getting closer and closer to a point where even I lose my trust in them.
I was aware of the flaws of 0.1.0, but I kept in mind that GGG has the ability to fix/balance stuff and use the 0.1.0 version (the basically "worst state" of the game) and improve from there - great potential.
Now, with 0.2.0 and the Zizaran interview... the only one I trust at GGG is Mark, and I don't think he has enough influence to change everything I see as a huge issue.
He is kinda like Chris 2.0 - not perfect, but has the community FIRST in mind, while sometimes a little bit out of touch. And that's totally fine.

Ayo that was worded beautifully. I agree 100% with ya
I think they need to tone back the loot nerfs a bit. SSF is pretty rough compared to 0.1 but even in 0.1 I got more upgrades through gambling than actual drops in maps.

I can understand them making mistakes with 0.2.0. But the way Jonathan acted so oblivious to how horrible the game feels right now really isn't a great look.
