“The Mobs Are Too Fast!”—No, You’re Doing It Wrong

Disagree

"skill issue" is not the problem this time around my friend

It is simply boring and unrewarding.

I'm glad you are enjoying the game, at least someone here is, but I am certainly not.
"
Mobs need to be fast, slow mobs are a hell to play if you are playing a melee, you dont want to run around and chase mobs... that is stupid.

On other hand when mobs are fast and have ability to break any of your skill/attack/spell, simply because they microstun, it is stupidly broken.

Please see step 5.

Hi there, thanks for the post! I just want to clarify that while I'm enjoying the game, I do agree it can feel boring and possibly unrewarding at times. This is something GG definitely needs to address, and an overhaul of the crafting system might be necessary. The purpose of this post is to help players who are struggling with the game (in its current state) and are quick to blame bad RNG or poor loot, often amplified by streamers, and calling for monster nerfs and player buffs.

Boredom and reward mechanics need to be looked at, but difficulty isn’t the core issue here. I really don’t want to see the game nerfed into oblivion because some zoomers, in their glorious rush to endgame, haven’t taken the time to explore different approaches and would rather just cry foul to GGG.

I sure LOVE busywork. Checking vendors from every act is one absolutely amazing experience and is so much better than monsters dropping loot like in all the other arpgs designed for filthy casuals.

This is a great point, and I’ve raised it in another post asking GGG to remove the ability to go back and buy cheap socketed gear. As you said, it's just "busywork." To clarify, the purpose of this post is to help players who are struggling so we don’t end up with "nerfville" and create another game like D4, where you zoom to endgame, get overloaded with loot pinatas, and then 1-shot the pinnacle boss before crying to Blizzard, "We need more content!"

I 100% agree that we need to remove the busywork, but in its current state, it’s just a way to ensure you have ample sockets.

Ah I see. Your tips seem to be suited for new players that haven't played 0.1.0, and most of your tips are the most basic of knowledge that I don't think it even needs to be said. The first paragraph was certainly misleading if you were just trying to "help players that are struggling with the game." I don't think gaslighting and invalidating players is going to do any good, but I'm glad you led with that, because I quickly understood that you are being disingenuous.

This is in no way a personal attack by the way. I'm just trying to be very straightforward/honest and constructive with you. I'm happy that I can have honest dialogue with players I agree and disagree with here. It's much needed for everyone

If an RPG veteran like Zizaran hasn’t figured out that you can buy cheap socketed and quality items from vendors to salvage for currency—and then publicly complains about lacking both gear and currency—I think it’s a safe bet that there are others who could genuinely benefit from a bit of guidance.

You're not the only one who seems to be a little oversensitive and serious and have missed the point of the post—it was intentionally humorous, and, as mentioned in the disclaimer (which you likely skipped), it was designed that way on purpose.

Still trying to figure out exactly how—or who—I’m supposedly "gaslighting." I think you're overanalyzing a bit. It’s just a light-hearted post aimed at helping players improve their experience, while hopefully preventing the game from being nerfed into oblivion because of player inexperience being mistaken for overtuned difficulty.

Your post reads as fairly passive-aggressive (not to mention filled with ad hominem), and honestly, this is starting to feel a bit like the parable of the tiger and the donkey. So I’ll respectfully bow out here. I’m more interested in productive discussions that might actually help the devs gather useful feedback to improve the game for everyone.

Surprised you mentioned checking vendors for quality/sockets but didn't recommend picking up similar items to salvage. I pick up every socketed/superior item to salvage and never run short of their respective salvage.

This sums it up. I'm not a Diablo-style-ARPG person, so I don't know what the expectations are, but I found the difficulty manageable through the campaign as long as you shop and craft when you feel a difficulty bump, pay attention to damage elements... Not counting Trials which, done at recommended level, are insane.

But on normal Acts 1-3, I did feel more pain than pleasure from spending orbs, and was disappointed how my loadout was more affected by shop purchases than crafting. It feels anticlimactic or something. I wish crafting resources dropped as much on Normal as they did on Cruel, just for the fun factor!

something I'm passionate about, trying to create a target-farming option for orbs in the early game - as a QoL for ssf/hc/early league play

An Early-Game "Orb Farming" Zone (D2 Countess-Inspired) (link)

hoping to get more feedback on it or more ideas about how the general problem of currency in early game can be addressed.
