Severe shortage of Regal Orbs

I've found as many Exalts as Regals. I've found 18 of each.

I salvage (disenchant) so many rates I never have a shortage.

evidence is there, they nerfed the loot drops rates in 0.2.0 again, from what it was back in December/January,

kind of annoying the game was in a good spot.

then they nerfed it again, unsure why, but GGG likes doing wierd things.
its not regal orbs that are the problem. its the fact that if you're not trading you will end up in act 6 with a pair of gloves you found in act 1 because gear progression in this game is meant to happen 1 piece of gear every act on average.

To make this worse. You are probably spending all of that crafting currency on your weapon so you can kill stuff. So the rest of your gear is either found on the ground or you don't update it until maps unless you're really lucky.

When you have a play-through with no vendor luck it feels terrible.

I hate to say it, and it doesn't make sense the way poe is designed. If you're only getting drops for your build archetype these kind of drop rates would make sense. Otherwise its really unfun doing the campaign with 1-2 mod items with no physical way to replace them assuming you care about having resistances and life and aren't just throwing bodies at the content.

Crafting bench
Crafting bench
Crafting bench.

Why don't we have one?

It really doesn't, because the only reason I would ever need to rely on "vendor luck" for upgrades is if for some insane reason I was refusing to take advantage of player trade to quickly and efficiently find optimal upgrades hand-selected to meet my needs.

Like yes, it will absolutely be great when they get around to addressing the lack of deep crafting utility but until then for god's sake just trade.

The solution to a basic problem like campaign leveling gear should never be trade. I'm not talking about 4-5 mod items here. I mean just being able to have a full set of 2 mod items without trading is incredibly lucky.

Not everyone plays trade league. You don't have to make ssf campaign half assed miserable.

Some noob should be able to login, never interact with another player, and get the gear to do campaign. Its campaign for crying out loud. That should be baseline.

Test it for yourself if you're interested. Go make a character on ssf. Play through the game without doing any cheese unique monster farming strats and see what your resistances/life/damage looks like by the time you get to maps. Just leisurely play the game like a new player would.

Also don't give me any of that tired old. "the game isnt balanced around ssf" nonsense. You should totally be able to play the campaign without feeling like you have to trade or your character will feel just a tad stronger than what it feels like naked with a weapon.

This level of character progression is what makes it feel so slow and boring.
Who needs Regal Orbs when you can have Regal Shards? You painstakingly collect 10 of these things, then you put them on an item and position yourself towards Mecca so that it can roll with -25% reduced attribute requirements and wonder if its worth using your last 3 exalts on

...is just a random arbitrary rule you decided to make up out of nowhere for no reason. Like says who? I genuinely just don't even understand how to begin rationalizing this attitude.

You will sit and stare at vendors and get frustrated and slog through hours of content with sub-par gear, but somehow spending 5 minutes trading for an item you need is unacceptable? It's just absolute and utter nonsense.

GGG is on record stating that the game is not designed around SSF and it never will be.

Again, why? This is just another unnecessary and arbitrary restriction that you're making up out of nowhere for no reason. If you're struggling for a lack of upgrades and the only thing standing between you and success is 3 minutes spent trading and you refuse to do so then that's just a you thing. You're making the game harder for yourself for absolutely no rational reason and I think it's likewise irrational for you to insist that GGG retune the game around your refusal to use a basic and fundamental feature of the game.

No thanks dude. SSF sounds awful and I'm fully aware it is not how GGG intends the game to be played.

If I want an experience like SSF I would just play a different game.
Just disenchant the rares you find. Regals are not an issue really, one of the few things which works
If you're handy with ai, go to the poe1 feedback forum. Sort every forum thread in the last 3-4 years by keyword and find how many of them are complaining about the way trade works in poe1.

Trade is a disaster.

" i spammed 90 people and no response "

" price fixers ruin the game "

" etc "

SSF or more specifically hcssf since ive never played scssf in poe1 is a masterpiece. You actually have some agency over your gear though even in campaign.

fracturing orbs are cool and all, but the first campaign of the league will have to feel a lot better than this if they want people to do this every few months for the next 10 years and the solution to that cant just be "trade". Who wants to be on their 2nd monitor looking for gear for the campaign during league start when all you want to do is play the game.

Trade can be the answer to problems while in the endgame. The campaign should not require it.
