Severe shortage of Regal Orbs
" I find it difficult to believe that you genuinely believe this is an accurate retelling of the reasons players were upset at D3's economy design and I'm shocked you expect anyone else to. People weren't upset because the design "forced trade." They were upset because it was built on a real-money Auction House that allowed people to buy upgrades with cash. The loot mechanics were rightly seen as a way for A/B to profit by forcing players to invest real money to progress their characters. " Again with these arbitrary rules and restrictions on trade. Like, why should this be true? What benefit is there to removing trade as a viable option to obtain gear in other contexts? Right now I can trade for low- and mid-tier items with less-than-perfect rolls and obtain major upgrades for my character (or quickly obtain entirely new gear sets to experiment with different builds and stats). If you want to convince me that this should not be possible you're going to have to explain why that would somehow make the game more fun or interesting for me because I'm really not seeing it. " "Reserved" was the wrong word to use. I meant "Only Necessary". Also, there is nothing wrong with using trading to shortcut/speed up one's progression if one so chooses. But not being able to simply load up the game and play through the campaign to the mapping system via the game's loot drops and crafting systems is not fun and a problem. Where's the power fantasy, progression, fun, lost time... meaning you logged in, played, and somehow 4, 5, 6, 7 hours went by in the blink of an eye... when everything dropped is crap, and you are constantly taken out the "zone" by opening vendor windows, hovering over more mostly useless crap, and alt-tabbing out of the game to hit a trade site trying to find something useful to aid your progression? The answer: there isn't any. One is always in the here and now, not having any fun, wondering why one is still logged into the game and not doing something else. |
