Dear GGG, please dont ruin this game, we love it.
" I don't think we've ever seen an economy worse than 0.1. However PoE1 had mapper builds and bosser builds, and generally they both sucked at the other content. Both could make money, the good stuff drops from uber bosses not white mobs that you one shot. |

" Just checked, 538 in game right now. This game will be free and I'm pretty sure that it wont stay afloat with 500 people operating the cash shop. Last edited by Ner0suM#7473 on Apr 8, 2025, 10:51:51 AM

" Yes that's right, and ontop of that, it can be more of an 'arpg' or more of an 'action-RPG', but they've already decided on it being some amount of both. I think shifting the game to be more of one or the other is okay, but the context of this thread is another person saying it can only be strictly one or the other. Either way it would be completely unhinged for me to say there aren't issues with the game. Last edited by nonoffensivename1#2572 on Apr 8, 2025, 10:59:37 AM

The problem I see is simple: they are using TIME to generate artificial difficulty. Huge zones and bullet sponge enemies simply take longer. Smaller zones with more difficult encounters (variety of tactics/enemy skills) that require different approaches would be actual difficulty, this is mostly just tedium.
Speed players up like 10%, with an out-of-combat 5sec movespeed buff for backtracking, and slow monsters down about 10%, and then design them more in the vein of rogue exiles. Make encounters more "souls like" by having more enemies with less life, or fewer enemies such that each pack is its own mini-boss encounter. That would be engaging us with a challenge and difficulty. Right now, it's just that things take a while, and it's you needing to be right every time while monsters only need to get it right once. In the end, you're fighting your own mental fatigue, not the monsters. It's EA, I expect them to make mistakes that most players would never see b/c it's so far from a finished game, but it's a fundamental point of game design that "making things take longer", and that idea insisting upon itself as a philosophy, is disrespectful of players' time and engagement with the game. " well, the goldilocks zone on a really great Action RPG experience is already extremely narrow and the arpg itemization, randomness etc. is working against that narrow band to push and pull people out of it. consider that. this game's skeleton/foundation is a 6-7 years old intended replacement for PoE1's campaign, and an end game system the likes of PoE1. so I think that's where they look next, and I imagine they haven't really planned or scheduled to do any of that. but making the campaign and endgame content better suited for it's combat pace seems necessary if they really want this to work. I'm not asking for some revolutionary innovation, it just needs to be fun. Last edited by Dak01#7115 on Apr 8, 2025, 11:34:14 AM

" No one is forcing you to play those builds. You are welcome to play ssf. People playing trade and complain about is rather hilarious. Don't be a meta slave and do other fun builds. |
