Why remove half of the jewel sockets?

It certainly shows GGG launched Poe2 in a state where it should have still been in closed alpha.

That's a fair point. But in the long run id prefer diversity to come from skills/gear/support gems rather than grabbing every jewel socket possible to custom craft our own generic passive nodes. I wasn't a fan of how strong cluster jewels in poe1 were either, they were cool but made a lot of the actual passive tree obsolete.

So you want to have to pay exuberant prices for stuff so you can play end game? Neat I’ll track how your opinion changes in the coming months.

Jewels were the equalizer for people who couldn’t afford top tier items.

The jewels were what allowed niche builds to enter end game.

You have no clue how negatively cutting them by 50% is going to impact this game.

The only worse decision GgG could have made is to cut the jewels

But honestly if ggg stresses you out like this, why play?

I'm going to laugh hysterically if they remove 12 jewels (most likely outter or inner rows) but then add 12 more in the other row. GGG is sneaky. I don't think they did. Removing the jewels is more or less an equal nerf across the board that doesn't target any archetype, and it focuses heavily on the high end player base.

they removes also life from monsters. just you need to test it.

Exactly. And while I'm sure that Tencent pushed them to release POE2 by the end of 2024, that's where it's the lead devs responsibility to push back when it's not ready. They could have released a 1-month "closed beta" to test things and then wiped progress.

Either way, Early Access games are SUPPOSED to be more or less feature-complete, which POE2 was not. Many games do abuse this, but that isn't a license for GGG to be unscrupulous.

The reason people were stacking jewels in PoE2 is because the tree had very few optimal choices.

This game was marketed as ready for open beta.

If you use the metrics for judging a game, poe2 is just exiting closed alpha.

I would imagine GGG could be sued for false advertising.

Will anyone go through the effort to do so? Probably not.

I would imagine last epoch would have had quite a few angry poe2 players convert over if they hadn’t moved the release date.

April 2nd was last epoch release date, on April 2nd GGG announced it would be cutting the enjoyment in poe2 by 50%

Actually I bet if last epoch didn’t push the release date back GGG would have never cut jewels by 50%. Oh well competition is only 2 weeks away. Cant wait to watch the path of exile 2 player numbers dwindle into nothing.

Seems like a huge missed opportunity for last epoch, they should have stuck to there gut.

With competitors as dumb as GGG is being last epoch has absolutely nothing to worry about. If GGG doesn’t course correct soon they’ll end up with dead poe1 servers and dead poe2 servers.

GGG has done a great job at pissing off its loyal base of players and a great job at turning new players away due to the radical shifts in design.

Bold move cotton let’s see how it plays out for them.

Also to anyone saying “but they lowered monster hp” ~ so what? You think that cutting 12 jewels is worth lowering monster hp by 50%?

You wouldn’t rather have monster HP be double so you can have double the number of jewels and increase the viability of all builds not just the super performers? Oh my bad, I forgot everyone only plays the same build as that popular streamer so that popular streamer build is the only one that matters, my fault.

I’m not joking when I say I truly believe the person in charge at GGG has a serious cocaine problem. That’s the only way I can explain making such moronic decisions en mass. I mean it’s possible the person is just simply one of the dumbest humans walking this earth, but the cocaine thing is way more likely.

One thing is certain, it’s either cocaine or nepotism or both cocaine and nepotism. Eitherway whoever it is needs help.

A big part of GGG’s problem is they treat the bot accounts as if they are real accounts. If GgG continues making horrendous decisions like this By the time Poe2 goes free to play bots will make up 90%+ of its player base.

You can call it a successful game if you’d like but if 90% of your player base is bots all you are is a rug pulling scam developer. I instantly realized looking at shop prices in poe2 that the paid shop is wicked over priced.

Hey guys just started playing after patch o.2 release with my old sorc and 4 out of my 7 jewels are gone... Disappeared all including very good one lile against darkness...
Very sad, any1 knows what the hell happened?

My fella says his jewels where nearby already taken nods... But that was not my case
