Hexblast must be deleted

The problem is most of the enemies attacks are 1-hit kills. You get hit, you die. So the only way to combat that is to one hit kill them too, This combo crap is complete bullshit. If I have a skill that I've used to bring them down to 25% or lower, I'm not going to bother switching to get that last hit.

If you decide to play SSF, its a poor choice to build around rare uniques that you likely will not see. Best to build around rares you find, and if you find a build defining unique THEN you decide to make the switch.. This is pretty established SSF practice already. This isnt a hexblast problem. Some builds will just never be SSF viable for these very obvious reasons.

Some people like me love to shoehorn unviable builds into SSF and 'suffer' until something drops to make it work. I say 'suffer' because it forces me to be somewhat creative and marginally use my brain.

There's really good small YT channels that do these crazy challenges for Diablo 2. Zarfen and Nuclear Rabbit. I get a kick out of handicapping myself. I don't need the game to handicap things for me further and unnecessarily.

With that being said, arguably and pertaining to the topic at hand, these hexblast changes were not needed in the slightest. If it turns out that you need windscream in order for the skill to feel good, then it is a downgrade overall. We shall see how it turns out tomorrow.

The game isnt handicapping if you are the one making the decision. Nothing wrong with trying to break the norm here playing SSF the way you do, but dont blame it on the game, you made the choice. If you know hex blast is going to be hard to play SSF ahead of time, and decide to anyways, thats on you. Im all about self-imposed handicaps, but at some point you gotta claim responsibility for the decisions that were within your control.

and you dont know the full scope of the game changes enough to determine if the changes were warrented or not, because you are basing it off pre-patch conditions. You could potentially be right, but you could also be just as wrong. Let it play out, if not for you, then for the people who DO ENJOY trying to make things that conventionally dont work.

They cut off your legs, give you some crutches, enjoy it.
The only way this will work if hexblast is culling whenever it is used. In 5 seconds I kill the boss, I wont put hexblast in my bar if it doesn't change this
Damage is roughly doubled. That does not outweigh the fact you cast it about 10 times less as often. Not to mention one third as many explosions.

Except you still have your legs, and you're just pretending they dont work.
If they do not want the 1 button playstyle, then they need to remove any and all 1 or 2 shot mechanics every enemy has. This means that in high lvl maps the rare mobs with 20 modifiers still need about 10 hits to kill you, as otherwise there is no way in hell you can wait 5.5 seconds, if not more, for hexblast to do dmg. If that hexblast does not 1 shot the enemy, then you need to fight him 11 seconds, sometimes even more, this means that if they want the 2-3 button playstyles, the dmg enemies do and their hp need to reduced significantly.

As otherwise you cannot play a skill that needs more then 2 seconds(maybe even 1) to put out its damage. This means that each and any skill that needs more time then the above mentioned, is completly obsolete and should be removed from the game.

No they do not need to remove 1 shot mechanics, they are there for a reason, it's a skill check.
Should have been more clear here, I do not mean the mechanics of bosses that 1 shot. What I ment is that if you fight a rare in high tier maps and its juiced, sometimes even without much juice, he basically just looks at you the wrong way and you are dead. This is also a kind of 1 shot mechanic. And this cannot stay in the game, if they want us to spend 5 seconds or more to do any amount of damage. As you simply will not survive for 5 seconds against such enemies, and these guys you most likely will not kill in 1 skill use, so you have to survive 10+ seconds against them, which is basically impossible.
And please be a smart person and dont come with "dont get hit, just tank it" etc bs, as I am not talking about mirror level gear, where you can just chill inside the damage enemies do and wait your 5+ seconds to do dmg, you need a way to reach that point, with EVERY skill in the game. Thats how the balance should be and they also want the balance that way. But skills that take that much time to do dmg, make no sense in the current state of the game.

If there is a magic support them that removes that hexblast interaction with blasphemy, then it just shows that GGG has sadly no idea how to balance properly, as the sole reason for that support gem would be to undo a nerf they did for 1 skill. That gem is utterly useless, besides for that 1 skill. Here we enter D4 kind of playstyle, which is simply not POE.
so patch is here and hexblast is a no go.
Bloodmage will become bloodwarrior and chaos will become a meme.
