Instead of trying to argue against the rhetorical, why dont you just admit that you understand the basic premise.
"YOU DONT KNOW ENOUGH TO MAKE ANY CONCLUSIONS YET" "THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR MORE HERE THAN YOU ARE PRESENTING" All you know is the mechanics changed, and i get it, you dont like it. No reason to go full doomer |

" Wrong game then, that simple. They have made it clear they are trying to get away from 1 button builds being the norm far before early access release. |

"This is an action rpg, not an mmo rpg where you have to do 1-2-3-4-5 rotation on every single mob |

" That doesnt change the fact that this is the direction that the developers are and have been taking. Not only that, but saying it out loud repeatedly that its one of their goal. |

" Unless the damage is four times as much or something equally insane, the fact that it now has too much requirement to setup still kills it. Keep in mind that it was still a mediocre skill even when it worked off of curse aura. Now that it is a combo skill it needs to hit for insane damage numbers that compete with to top builds. The idea that it will actually be good enough now because you do not know the damage change is silly, there is no way they buffed the damage that much. " I dont think its any sillier than you assuming they just decided to gut a skill without having anything else in mind, i just added more potential possibilities for nuance than just more/less damage. |

" Unless they SPECIFICALLY say they have something else in mind, it is better to assume they gutted it without thinking. They literally told us how they gutted it. Last edited by doombybbr#6074 on Apr 3, 2025, 3:39:34 PM

They told us they changed the mechanics, whether its gutted or not remains to be seen.

" The mechanics were such a massive change that it is VERY safe to say it is gutted. Even if they attempt to compensate with damage buffs, it will not be enough to make up with the fact that now it requires you to use a curse, wait 1.5 seconds, HOPE the enemy did not move out of the curse when it triggers then wait even longer for it to reach halfway, and then use it - and you may incidentally miss the timing if there is no visual indication that the curse is half finished. If hexblast had actually good damage before the nerf it would have needed to have multiple times as much damage after the nerf to still be viable - but it didn't even do good damage prior to nerf, so it needs ten times or more damage, which isn't really going to happen. |

The build that I got furthest with in this tedious slogfest of a game was the Cursed Ground / Hexblast combo.
Even that felt fairly slow at times. But I was able to reliably kill rares in 2 or 3 pops with it during maps. It wasn't OP or even close to being a zoom-boom instant map clear. The changes were totally unneeded. Seeing this change makes me sad. If I decide to play this game again, I'll certainly try something else out, but as time goes on, I'm seeing less reason to play the game. The hype around the Amazon playstyle and whatnot has me intrigued because that was always my fun fallback in classic Diablo 2... But GGG and their level of truthfulness when it comes to this game has been questionable, to say the least. I already feel baited and scammed for paying for EA and having "fun, tactical and meaningful combat" advertised to me when in fact it is tedious, boring and not even challenging in the slightest. I was also pissed off when GGG gutted Hexblast ignite builds in PoE1 some time ago. That was my favourite build. Now it's all just hexblast mines. Hexblast ignite then wasn't even close to the power level of a mediocre low tolerance poison mamba build that PoE1 has now. |
