Additionally, the title is accurate, it pisses me off, regardless of why it's a stupid design and nobody likes it, it needs to go. It needs to go.


This game will NEVER not have problems. Ever. Especially invisible on death effects, invisible ground effects, etc etc.

This shit has been a long estajblished GGG problem since I started in 2018, and they have not only failed to address it, but made it significantly worse in POE 2.

Until they get a functional game that never has unrendered on-death effects they need to get rid of 1 portal. And they are NEVER gonna fix on death effects, they have had 13 years and put that shit in 2 games on purpose... Every single league thery make new on death effects that arte literally or very close to invisible. For years, and years, and years, patch after patch, expansion aftekr expansion, every, single, league.

It's absolutely a bad and horrible design in a game so buggy that even at full launch you will NOT be able to expect these things to work properly.


I'm a LONG time player -- I play one game, this one. Exclusively. Since the day blizzard said "Do you guys not have phones?"
1 portal for maps is not an issue, and actually is better for the game in the long term.

If the game bothered to render everything I actually wouldn't mind it -- but as the game has had this problem since I started POE 1 years ago, and it's brought back almost every single league by GGG... well, i'm out of hope they can ever make this work properly.

It just utterly nukes my entire mood when invisible unrendered shit kills me out of nowhere, that's not fun or engaging gameplay, it's not meaningful combat, it's just bullshit.
i mean i stopped playing bc of this 1 life for maps... so def not good for the game. I know im not the only one.

Tell you what I think. All this 1 portal whining I read is coming almost exclusive from poe1 guys who try to run their 6 portal defense type of builds. It doesn't work. Adapt.


By gearing properly you mean spend 100 div on gear which 95% of players don't have.

Honestly your typical get good response is completely pointless except to bolster your own ego. Crafting and drops are complete trash, so gearing "properly" requires a div+ on each piece of gear on the low end of the spectrum. The market is completely broken from rmt, bots, and people who play for 12 hours a day running rarity and farming divs. Defense is trash unless you run a ton of es.

Maybe you fall in the category of no job, 12 hours a day farming, and 100 div on gear so you really have no clue what 95% of the player base has to deal with.

Yeah to be 100% upfront, I don't feel I can accurately judge the 1 portal system while this is still a problem.

If everything rendered and these problems simply didn't exist, I might actually like the risk reward -- however as it is, it's more likely you just flop over randomly in a very juicy map, because it's so juicy.
I don't think that's a reason to remove the 1-attempt system. Personally, I really like the 1-attempt system, because it's a nice halfway point between SC and HC. I don't want to lose that.

But if the rare death makes you quit in pure anger, then aren't there other solutions? Solutions that you are in control over, that doesn't require changing the game for everyone else?

You can:

1) Adapt your build, or try a new build.
2) Run lower tier maps.
3) Learn anger management.

All of those are probably more likely to help you feel better than getting mad on a forum.

Also, if they introduced a 6-attempts system, then you'll just lose 60% exp, and then get upset over that.

So you have 4,800 EHP at best with 0% damage mitigation and you are surprised to get one shotted in the highest content the game has to offer ?

You do understand 66% Evasion with Acrobatics doesn't stop the one shot, right ?
