One portal is hostile to the playerbase -- Even when rare, death makes me logout in pure anger.
I'm still dying to invisible bullshit now and again, not nearly as bad as before..
But when I die regardless, my gut reaction is logging out in anger -- Especially when it rarely occurs, that makes it substantially worse actually (for me). So here are the problems with this outwardly hostile vision from GGG 1) losing a map AND content = Hostile to the player 2) disrespectful of our time, as were already running LONG MAPS... = Hostile to the player, time wasting, tedious nonsense. 3) The maps are so big they are painful to get through = Frustration / Anxiety / Anger. Going through any map a 2nd time for any reason is actually painful, it literally manifests as an upset stomach for me. Yes, this design is so bad it gives me stomach pain. And it's actually 100x worse when it rarely happens, as I forget for awhile such a horrible mechanic exists. None of these things benefit the player in any singular way, shape, or form. Just like in Settlers when the entire league didn't have a SINGLE positive event outcome, only negative ones -- it really shows you where GGG's head is at. Last bumped on Feb 6, 2025, 8:30:39 PM

Yeah, random instant death is usually my queue to quit instantly.
I can't imagine this is the end game they envisioned. Why make such a fun interesting act 1-6 with challenging boss fights and tough fodder just to dismantle the entire game with end game instant kills for both player and enemy? |

But in POE 1 which I played for years and years, this has never really happened -- because when there is an insivbible death, we have 5 more chances, so it only kinda sucks.. But not in POE 2. Until they fix all invisible nonsense deaths, they need to get rid of this bad design. It's absolutely rage inducing and no longer acceptable. We have been railing about this problem plus nearly invisible on death effects almost 5 years before my first time playing this game in 2019 -- And they have still not only not learned, but doubled down and made it even worse in POE 2. It's just not cute or funny or frankly acceptable anymore. And now it's not just annoying, it fucks you. I don't play this game to get fucked by the developers. I just want to play a game, not be punished for poor coding. Perhaps if the maps were half the size, and we moved twice as fast, it wouldn't be so bad. Currently, I can't even play my witch anymore because there's so much crap on the screen even a 4060 and Ryzen 5 5600 turns the screen into flashing artifacts and TONS of un-rendered nonsense -- Yes, the game is in EA, I'm aware. it definitely feels bad for citadels. take a lot of effort to find and get to one, and dying to some bs basically nullifies that in seconds.

" Idk which game you are playing but if you gear properly you don't get instakilled in this game. Tell you what I think. All this 1 portal whining I read is coming almost exclusive from poe1 guys who try to run their 6 portal defense type of builds. It doesn't work. Adapt. |

" We are the customers. GGG must adapt. We are not happy, and we do not care. It is not our job as the consumer to care what the company wants. Additionally, being rude and trying to mock a build doesn't help. This isn't 2015, nobody makes bad builds, nobody is new, nobody fails to grasp the game... " I am not trolling. From all I can see you want this game to be PoE1. Faster movespeed, smaller maps, more portals. But it is not PoE1. It is PoE2 and it has different requirements for you. Build in a way that stuff can't one-shot you. The slower paced, more difficult gameplay punishing zoom zoom glass cannons is a feature, not a bug. |

" Bro... i'm in crazy top tier gear, i'm no noob.. I know what i'm doing, and I know what i'm saying -- and i'm complaining about invisible 1 shots. If you can't understand how that's frustrating I can't help you. And when i'm zooming around on my LA deadeye and suddenly just fall over from something invisible there is no counter play. 1800 life 3000 ES with Grim feast 66% evasion, acrobatics... My gear is quite nice, but LA has lower life and lower ES, even with amazing gear. Which sucks with invisible death effects. Secondly -- This game is not slower OR more difficult, it's actually 100x easier than POE 1. Except the invisible 1 shots on the deadeye, all my builds are immortal and I've got zero struggles with this game from day 1. I genuinely wonder how people think this game is any harder in any capacity. It's crazy easier than POE 1, and i'm a 1%'er in POE 1 (or so i'm accused of here). |
