Getting One Shot With Max Resistances is not an ARPG Game

"
and again, bunch of crying and no mention about the mapmods

penetration dont give a shit about your maxed resistances :)

Let's try to be civilized here, no offending language and you've been reported.
In an ideal ARPG, the balance should be between the player’s preparation (resistances, defenses, etc.) and the challenge of the enemies—where there are still risks and tough moments, but they feel fair. PoE2 does tend to push that envelope to the extreme, but a big part of its reputation is based on how unforgiving it can be. Still, there needs to be a better balance between difficulty and player control. You want to be rewarded for your effort without feeling like you're being punished for small mistakes or things beyond your control.

Lol, what are you guys even doing? If you get one-shot by white mobs in t15's then your build is unfit. If it is so hard, how come I don't get one-shot at all? I can eat a t16 guilottine drop and survive as a spark mage with 7k ES and 75 res. Idk what y'all are doing lmao.

Nobody believes you that you've never been one-shot in this game, because everyone experience it and it's all over the community.

I didn't say I don't get one-shot. I said I don't get one shot by white mobs in t15s, which is what you claimed happens all the time to you. The reality for me is that there is no white mobs in t15 that even remotely have the potential to one-shot me. I am not a particularly skilled player tbh, which is why I rely on a good defensive layer via itemization and skill points. It serves me very well.

lol you mentioned "I don't get one-shot at all" hahaha

85% fire resist, 87% lightning resist, 77% cold resist and 75% chaos resist (too hard to overcap chaos btw, just way too hard) and I literally could not fit really any more life or strength onto my build without god damn Astramantis which is completely out of reach and I still get routinely 1 shot by complete bullshit like trash white mobs on my Warrior, even through my armor and block rate and everything.

I would say that yes the game is horribly balanced, it's actually quite a joke.

Campaign is fine. Going back to there with a friend to help them and the game feels amazing.

Endgame is the problem.
Endgame mobs hit too hard, move too fast, are just bullshit copied and pasted PoE 1 mobs.

So lazy. So unacceptable. HAS to be the biggest change made to the game the fastest or people WILL quit in droves.

THIS!!!!

I'm literally in the process of bullying a friend into playing so I have someone to level a character with. I don't want to stop playing but the endgame SUCKS.
I hate campaigns in Arpg's.
Somehow THIS GAME has me loving it's campaign? This might be Copium.

Yeah, in the context of this thread of yours, i.e., t15 maps, I don't get one-shot at all. Not even heavy hitting bosses can do that in t15 maps.
And ofc eating a full slam from the Gorilla on t18 is going to 100 to 0 me. But that is miles apart from a random white mob on t15.

Bump. They vastly need to improve defenses and stop making the game so boring. The reason that these concepts work in DARK SOULS, where they clearly want to draw DNA from, is that losing has essentially no punishment in DS. You retrieve your souls, sure, but you lose nothing except time. The idea being that in a Souls game you are incentivized to try and try again, and through determination overcome things.

In POE2 you are incentivized to turn the game off because dying costs you experience, time, your map item, your modifiers on the map node you were running, and anything on the ground left un-looted. Literally wtf.

^^^ this! The punishments are four layers deep. They only needed one or two max especially during early access while the game is unbalanced and buggy. Not sure they expect people to experiment and find broken builds to help them balance if people are quitting already. They need to motivate players, not demotivate. Crazy choice to make. The devs live on another planet. Remember they were talking about bugs making it in game because they were playing on a giant screen in the office. So they dont experience the lag and stutter we do online. They may as well be playing the game coop local while the rest of us keep telling them the game runs like crap. They have telegraphing that is really short, taken from Poe1 and not balanced to the movement speed of Poe2. Add in the server lag and you dont actually have time to react. You warp right into the fire which for some reason is melting you in two seconds with full resistance. I am talking about the end game mostly.
They're just causing the same problem as PoE1 when DR gets close to 99.99%.

They should instead be using lower but more reliable numbers so they don't have to create 4 different counter stats/mechanics (Curses, Exposure, Penetration, etc) for the same damn thing.

Instead of 90% + Layering trying to counter this they can simply use 40-50% and not need all these countermeasures. At that DR if they want something to hit hard they can simply make it hit hard.

They need to start using soft cap formulas instead of basic hard caps.

I agree with some of these things moving way to fast to even have adequate time to react and dodge roll and run, like the super-fast exploding fireballs or those lighting guys that chase you, or the mobs that constantly chase you and stay in your face and even with speed boost all ya can do is hope to kill them before they kill you cause there is absolutely no running or dodge rolling a person can do to save yourself. the fireballs go through my ES my mana pool as it takes damage before life then i have over 1200 life as a little bit of a back up and all i have is like trash and useless. the power is there that i have cause i can destroy most mobs and also bosses before they get to me as i have spent like 300 hours or so build a toon and all the power and def and res i have is trash just to die 1 time on a map and its all over, the 1 map 1 death stuff needs addressed i could deal with all this other stuff if i knew i had more than 1 chance and thats it, shoot dont change anything if ya dont want but the 1 map 1 death done over kaput never to continue no hope out of mind doesnt exist anymore extinct destroyed up in flames down the drain up the creek without a paddle obliterated and just give it up runs need to change please
