Getting One Shot With Max Resistances is not an ARPG Game

Doing Tier 15, all resistances max out and shield at 100%, this lone normal mob just one shot me
with a bow.

This is not an RPG game, but a one-shot mechanic arcade game.

This game made me sick, mad, and angry. It's not enjoyable anymore, game mechanics is so bad.


I'd be curious what your Life and defenses are, there's a possibility you are under geared, though the feeling is quite mutual.

Reaching the maximum threshold of elementary resistances is the strict minimum required.

On top of that, you need to add other defensive layouts (which are on PoE 2, I must admit, a bit hard to find as it is).

Personally, I play with 4.5K ES, 5K mana, Midn Over Matter (yes, I know, not very original) and I haven't encountered any one-shot problems (in T15, ofc).

Only a few specific bosses (sekhemas for example) have concrete one-shot capability.

The underlying problem, from my point of view, is that ES is too strong compared to the other defensive layouts currently available (or else the other defensive layouts are too weak, a matter of opinion).


80% max fire resist, infernalist with Altered Flesh (cold/lightning 20% done as fire damage).

5.6k ES

1 shot randomly multiple times a day.

Its because there is such a huge degree of modifiers rare monsters can have. Its like running though a field with a single land mine in it. Most of the times you're just FINE - until youre not.
Lol, what are you guys even doing? If you get one-shot by white mobs in t15's then your build is unfit. If it is so hard, how come I don't get one-shot at all? I can eat a t16 guilottine drop and survive as a spark mage with 7k ES and 75 res. Idk what y'all are doing lmao.
and again, bunch of crying and no mention about the mapmods

penetration dont give a shit about your maxed resistances :)

Sure would be great if Armor/Life was that capable of survival. It is sooooo hard to get 150+ life and 30+ str on every gear slot (especially while maintaing 25%+ MS on boots and sufficient resistances) with how shitty mods are weighted in this game. 70% armor and even some physical damage white mobs with no bonus damage mods at all will do 600+ damage, physical bosses can even one shot me at nearly 3300 life. And apparently there is an "overwhelm" mechanic that IGNORES ARMOR? Can you imagine if there were damage types and attacks that penetrated ES even while using CI!? Could you imagine the fucking outcry over that? That's what Armor/Life feels like how how anti-armor/life this game's balance is.

I have over a dozen bricked waystones because they have elemental pen/weakness/reduced resist or extra damage mods. I'll same map same mob type one rare do <200 damage a swing and another with ONE FUCKING EXTRA DAMAGE MOD do over 2500 per swing and I'm 78/76/78/59 with Heatproofing for fire damage.

The game is fucking broken. The mob damage scaling math is completely borked, especially when a white minion bomb thrower can POST NERF one shot 3200 Life 78% fire resist 70% armor rating.

Nobody believes you that you've never been one-shot in this game, because everyone experience it and it's all over the community.

You know this could all be avoided if there was a damage cap on enemies. say, 3000? But I guess no one thought of that yet.
you cant even GET max resist in ssf campaign

i have played thru campaign multiple times now and none of my characters could achieve max resist

ppl say the campaign is great.. i assume they only trade or play twinked gear buuilds.. cause the ssf play thru is miserable.
