I hate the death penalty too and think it's unnecessary. I'm currently 96 as a titan and it's just sick how much you get deducted. In purely economic terms it hurts the player base more and I think it generates less revenue. My idea would be that since every season is a kind of competition or race, the death penalty is turned off in every season as soon as the first or first 10 players reach level 100. As a thank you and honor to the players who have made it, there will be something nice from ggg and the honor of the other players in some kind of support. That would be nice and a really cool community task then.

I agree with the 1 portal per map being a bit much given the other penalties. I'm totally on board for that mechanic going away.

I really don't agree that 100 should be attainable via T15 whites.

I am totally on board with the meta of juicing +xp on maps and towers if you are in fact trying to grind xp.

Right now there is a good trade of in place with what kind of maps and tablets you are running and you can choose to give up some loot for xp.

I don't really want PoE2 to turn into a bunch of lvl 100s complaining that there is "nothing to do" because they are lvl 100 now 1 month into a new league.

+1 for Remove xp loss on death.

Just feels like it encourages the "zoom zoom 1-shot" playstyle even more, so that's a Big Fat Nah.

I have friends who never played PoE before and they're above 91. On hardcore. One plays titan.
Either your build is the problem or you're running increased crits+extra damage as+elemental weakness maps or something like that.

So, for your friend's Titan -- SSF or Standard/Trade? And Mace/Warrior (for the Titan)?

If it's the former, then sorry lol, no offense, but I'll use the words from DM from the interview said it well lol...i.e. your friend's a Masochist lol (yes, I do know that can be a bit harsh maybe for others in a similar boat to your friend lol...but I don't really see it any other way either lol. And neither do some Pro Streamers either lol [aforementioned DM, and Ghazzy too as he was his side-kick for that topic in the interiew lol -- for some context if you haven't seen the interview, they called Carn, a prominent streamer for "top best SSF Warrior", a Masochist...lol]).

If the latter, then eh whatever, as some folks don't like to do Trade - it just trivializes the game lol. Or just buy RMT like Musk, while you're at it lol. Nothin' special lol.

And if you say Standard but no Trade, then that's still basically SSF in a way, and hence again Masochist territory lol.

So, regardless of the scenario, you're still disregarding the folks (like OP, and Many Others [look at the "Rate End Game 1-10" type of Threads here, Reddit, YT, etc -- lol]) who want a diff playstyle (i.e. SSF/Standard, No Trade) than your friends lol -- while not being a Masochist -- lol. (Btw, and yes, the "zoom zoom 1-shot", XP loss on death, etc etc etc mentioned in aforementioned sources are all part of these end-game/mapping issues... -- lol -- oh and did I mention all of these folks want more Build Variety? Lol. They don't just want 1-shot zoom zoom build variety -- lol -- again, there's PoE1 for that -- so many folks have said they'll just either go back to PoE1 instead -- or just straight up not tolerate a clone of PoE1 -- lol [perhaps your friends are in the minority here and can give credit here in terms of them not ever played PoE1, but look at the playerbase now for the game -- lol])

Experience loss is supposed to suck. Thats why it is used as a punishment for dying instead as a reward for completing your map.
Good to see that you figured that out.

Agree 100%.

I would like to suggest removing XP loss on death in PoE2, as well as in PoE1 (particularly with Kalguur mechanics). In my experience, this mechanic does not incentivise improvement; rather, it feels discouraging and demoralising, especially for newer players or those tackling challenging content.

Instead, a small gold penalty could serve as a fairer consequence. Gold is not a significant barrier to progress, making it a more balanced alternative.

Another point I'd like to address is the issue of community dynamics. High-powered players sometimes respond to newer or struggling players with comments like 'get good,' which can foster elitism and alienate newer members of the community. A welcoming environment is essential for a thriving player base, and I hope steps can be taken to promote inclusivity.

Finally, I would love to see the return of six portals per map. This feature was integral to gameplay, offering flexibility and reducing frustration during challenging encounters.

Thank you for considering these suggestions. I believe they would enhance the player experience and strengthen the community.

So I think you miss understand a bit you should be able to reach max level with white maps through a meta (possibly atlas tree) that limits you in other ways. (example: More XP but cant gain breach splinters). This would keep you from end game bosses while allowing for char progression. Preventing the loss of things to do issue.

would also have to add in a rare map requirement for citadels. Keeping this content blocked behind Map enhancement but not player level.

This also provides a enhancement for players that can do boosted maps sooner as they would be able to get to the end game bosses. They wont char progress as fast but the players that can do this don't care as much.

They considered those changes and denied them. What´s so fokin' hard to understand?

Also in many cases "get good" is the only correct answer.

You can already do that by focusing on tablets with +exp% bonuses instead of others that would have given you loot.

You can get 30% bonuses on every single map in range of towers without too much effort.

Either way XP != Character progression in the late game.

There isn't a single build out there that is defined by the last points. For most builds those last points is just adding another jewel.

Going from 90-100 with the same gear is not going to produce a noticeable difference in power.

I don't get this obsession with leveling. You either get to 100 or don't but either way it won't actually change much for your character besides stroke your ego.
i would suggest, everybody who do not like punishing games ...
PLAY SOMETHING ELSE
POE WILL ALWAYS HAVE UNFAIR MECHANICS BECAUSE DEVS LIKE IT THAT WAY
