jesus what a mess bro.
if your main argument would be true then ppl wouldn't be reaching the pinnacles within first week of the game being out. even if they played 24/7 this is manageable to anyone if you spread it across 2 months. and trust me, they didn;t trade their way up neither
Right, Streamers, neets, and basement dwellers did. These totally represent the whole, right? Get the fuck outta here lmaoo.. WhAtAmEsSbRo
like i said yuo can spread your time played across months. thats attainable even for a very casual player. you just want the game easier. and having better gear 100% accomplishes that. now stay mad
Wrong, I want to not waste my time playing SSF because it takes far too long to get the same reward you can get in softcore by trading and playing the exact same identical content and I would play SSF if it didn't take absurd amounts of time to do the exact same thing.
I'm turbo seething bro, hard, literally smashing my keyboard. You won my guy, I'm gonna neck myself now. This is why were here after all, to score points against each other and not discuss a topic..

POE does not need trading. This long outdated format gives way to hackers, market manipulation, and issues with progression that spill over into solo self found.
I understand that trading is likely a driver for GGG income, but it shows a complete disregard for the majority of players that purchase and support this franchise.
The current state of trading sees players paying other players for items they can't otherwise find on their own. Drop rates are terrible in this game, to the point that if you can't play POE2 for 40hrs a week you're unlikely to find anything useful. Instead, you're forced to hand over all of your currency to someone else... because they have the time and resources to make/find that item that is so critical to your success.
Personally, I don't like relying on other players to find the things I need. I don't want to alt-tab every time I find something that might help someone else, in the hopes that I can sell it. I don't want to hand over orbs to some nameless gamer in Russia so that I can progress my character. Power and progression should be rewarded just by playing the game.
Something has been lost from the days of Diablo 2, which (I believe) is where this whole trading b.s. comes from. Back then, you made a room with a title like "selling Shako"... someone would join, and offer a trade. The difference here is that players didn't have currency... no orbs. No market values. Just usable gear. This is where it all breaks down with POE trade... we have an economy now, and it's totally unstable. The developers have zero control, and the 1% / bots / hackers run amok.
To the GGG developers: I hope this reaches you. Please take some time to think about this broken system, and consider making a better space for those of us that don't want to rely on it. This could be as simple as better drop rates in SSF, or changing how loot works... (let me mod maps to have higher chances at dropping certain item types)... etc.
There are so many ways things could be better. Hell, let the traders trade... I don't care. But at least make the world a little better for the rest of us.
You won't go play SSF because of drop rates, but you want the game to have no trade so that everyone will get those same rates?
Why don't we all just have a T0 unique we can choose for free?
Just go play SSF or something.
Opinions like this are completely out of touch.
please read everything. I don't mind if there's trade for those that want it, I just don't think that the SSF experience is balanced in a way that's meaningful.
"out of touch" I assume means "please don't change my precious POE"....
what is the point of SSF if it can be achieved by playing the game with trading enabled and simply not using that feature?
I'm confused why SSF even exists at this point.
Drop rates should be better for SSF, because there's NO TRADE MARKET TO BOOST MY CHARACTER OTHERWISE.
Having the ability to trade is a SIGNIFICANT advantage... if I choose to play without trading right now, I'll be slogging through the game worse than ever. It's bad enough WITH trading.
geez.

I disagree. I agree that the trading experience has friction, but that's intended by the devs. Unfortunately, I think the big difference between a big ARPG, like Diablo or PoE, and a small ARPG, like Grim Dawn or No Rest For The Wicked, is that the former thrives on trade, and the latter thrives on personal experience. Trade creates a big community, through personal investment for a lot of people.
I personally do not like trading, but I enjoy playing SSF. I've reached T15 maps, but I don't think of not reaching pinnacle bosses or not insta-screen-clearing as a failure. Rather, I just enjoy the journey and slow, gradual upgrades. If you can't do that, then you'll never be happy. Stop comparing yourself to others.

if only they had a game mode where you could play solo and self find items without any trading. wish someone could have thought of that.

D3's "group bound" loot is so much better and enjoyable than POE's trading design.
Trading is literally playing D3 release.
You farm currency (gold) to buy your items off the trading website (AH).
How GGG got away with this for so long, while even Blizzard were FORCED to change it, is beyond me.

Solo Self-found is built just for you... so they have already fixed this issue for you.

Finding or crafting a piece of gear that I can sell to another player adds to my experience in the game.
You have SSF, go play it.
If your preferred mode needs changes then advocate for that.
Don't go around trying to ruin everyone else's toys because you don't like yours.

then play d3? poe is precisely succesfull because of its approach to trading and loot. A lot of people like it. Get over it. Why do you want this game to change so bad? just play something else and let us enjoy trade and/or ssf.

Authors of these posts should be banned at this point, it's too much.. Just play SSF.
Yeah except SSF sucks. Unless you're an absolute no-lifer, you'll never get any decent gear in SSF.
My quarter staff is only worth ~10 div on trade. Despite "crafting" on thousands of quarterstaffs I've never made any thing close to as good. Crafting in the game blows.
