Ignore people crying about it

It's not. What are the devs afraid of, that the players have fun because they have good loot ?

They need to rethink what game it is. It's not a souls like, its not an mmo, it's a single player ARPG with coop mechanics.

Get rid of stupid trading and online orbs selling, create a good single player economy and voilà, you have a good ARPG loot system.

If a small team like Crate can do it, why a freaking giant like GGG can't think of a better ARPG looting system?

For reference:
"Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. It is designed around a strong online item economy, deep character customisation, competitive PvP and ladder races. The game is completely free and will never be "pay to win"."

The game is designed around a strong online economy, it's not actually single player. This is ofc from PoE1 because 2 doesn't have a similar page yet, but there's no indication anywhere that they're removing trade as a central pillar of game design and character progression. :) What you're asking for is such a drastic departure from the core of the game that I don't really see it ever happening. It's not a matter of capability, it's a matter of design and goals. GGG wants an economy driven ARPG, and so do I.

The economy is shit and suffers from hyperinflation *because* of lack of crafting, and too impactful Rarity.

Could have fooled me. Between the horrid downscaling in parties, the breaking of builds via enhanced stun, freeze, and shock thresholds, and the restrictive Experience sharing, no one parties up in the the campaign (maps incentivize grouping due to rewards, nothing more).

Once again, I ask for sources of your claims. I'm able to gear characters just fine in Trade, so what hyperinflation are you referring to?

Of course, you still have no evidence, so you'll ignore me and just troll the forums to keep yourself mad. Pity. :)

Just the one where Divines replaced Exalts as the main currency 2 weeks in, nothing major.
Give it 3 more weeks and we're at Mirrors.

there was a lot of people misled by the trade site exchange not being set correctly. Even during that time, and even right now, it was very easy to buy 5-10Ex gear that will get to T15s. Divines always become the end game currency. Are you not familiar with PoE1 leagues? Everything happening outside of the dupe shenanigans is completely normal market correction. No mirrors will not become the standard, that line really shows a lack of familiarity with PoE economics.

A huge priority
It's POE 2, not 1. The economy and trading always has been a big negative critical point of the game, so it was the best time to show that they could learn from past mistakes, but they showed completely the opposite by promoting an more modern and easier ARPG and the last interview was the worst they could have done. Yes, they answered questions, but they shown that they did not learn a single thing about what fun is and what is the point of a video game.

That was a great effort to talk to the community.

There is no way they can carry the knowledge off all the systems in their heads.
So how exactly rarity effects currency, yeah perhaps they have a general idea of how tiers may influence drops .. but they are not wiki pages.

When they didnt know they said we don't know
When they didn't agree they said no.

Most posts here are people upset because their issue isn't an issue
for GGG or low on the priority list. Anything to do with the market or money...
who cares right now, core game mechanics , crashes, bug fixes are the priority.

Be mad sure, but don't criticize the communication effort , it was great and transparent.

They can't implement some things without a season or market reset and are too kind to say.... because if we do this , the community will cry like children.
So we need to wait until we are resetting the whole thing so people dont lose their minds about their duped item and broken class interaction was taken away .

To me it sounded like they were amateur interviewers who came with a list
specific gripes.

1. communication

Essentially, every single answer was either "no", or "no idea".
You can think this is positive, I don't.
We see it differently.
To me it felt like DM and Ghazzy were talking to a brick wall.

2. core issues

Droprates being heavily nerfed, because they are balanced for Rarity, and Regal / Exalt orbs being 1 pull at the slot machine, because crafting = slot machine are two problems that amplify each other into an enormous problem.
Even as a HCSSF player, I prioritise Rarity over Resistances, because otherwise I couldn't even farm gear upgrades.

The way they dismissed this issue entirely did not sit right with me, especially when they weren't even aware of how Rarity works in the first place.

Every single thing they learned during PoE 1 regarding Quantity, they unlearned with PoE 2.

Ill reply just cause im embedded in there.
That was a really good communication.

They could have just posted a bug fix on a website.
Two senior staff just showed up and fielded off script questions in real time.

People are upset they didnt answer specific questions, they don't need to answer any.

It was a service to the players to let them know things are happening.

To be honest im a little disappointed the questions were so bad.

I would of liked to hear more about the direction of the game from their perspective. Not answering things hyper specific to a build or a ability issue.

Higher level questions about direction of the game.

I think it was quite good.

What's worse is Jonathan is confusing players by calling the best tier of a item "T1" when it's the opposite. there's no QC or rhyme or reason. it's jarring. 0 reason to change something like this. shows they feel the need to change things to change things.

it really feels like their response to trade will be "what you don't have a second monitor?" forgetting about console players lmao
