The interview had major "Do you not have phones?" energy

DM and Ghazzy asked many amazing questions, yet all of them were dodged.
"We will need to investigate"
"Soon"
"We haven't checked"

People defend GGG with "GGG has the data, they know what they're doing".
According to them in this interview, they have no data about anything.
So that doesn't really hold up anymore.

The worst part was them defending Rarity.
Droprates are balanced around Rarity. Rarity is a mandatory stat. You will get absolutely no Orbs without Rarity.
Implying that blue orbs are as exciting a drop as Exalts was wild.

They were completely clueless about how their own game mechanics work (Rarity, CI), and even when Ghazzy explained it to them, they still dismissed it, alongside all the other feedback they straight up dismissed for the few cases their answer wasn't "I don't know":

Rarity and droprates being balanced around it is a problem? Dismissed.
Movement speed being more common or implicit? Dismissed.
Lower tier affixes being too common when rolling higher tier items? Dismissed.
Crafting = slot machine? Dismissed, because "deterministic not good"?

So what was all the hype for? To tell us you can replace Runes now? Okay.

The whole interview was Ghazzy and DM talking to a wall.
It's giving "Do you not have phones?"

It is bewildering to me how anyone would find this interview positive.

Didn't you already post it? Talk about trying to set the narrative.

They answered many questions and had GREAT tranperancy. Especially compared to other devs. Good luck getting anything from Blizzard.

They admitted to a lot of problems and said it straight if they didn't know exactly what is the problem/solution.
i wouldnt call their answer dismissive. just they like it that way and for them it looks like it works as intended. they didnt have time to repeat all their views on those subjects in this interview.

basically, except the crafting which is incomplete and will be improved with the uncomming crafting mechanics from future leagues, the summary was, game works as intended.

I don't think we watched the same interview.

There is a difference in dodging a question and being honest saying that you dont know enough about the problem to give an informed response.
You can critique them for that if you wanted them to be more prepared but you need to be accurate.

There is also a difference between dismissing something and again just being honest and saying that its working as intended. Like they did with rarity.

If you try to tell them that rarity is broken, but they think its working as intended and this is what they want the game to be like, what would you like them to say? Just bend over to anyone who has anything negative to say and come up with some made up fix that will never come or just be honest and say that this is how they want it to be?

If you dont like rarity then atleast now you know that its intended and this is how they want the game to be. That doesnt necasserily mean that it wont ever be changed or removed but its atleast better then them giving you some fake answer about adressing your problem and then not actually doing it.
Absolute L take here. I thought the interview was fantastic. It was 2 hours long. How many developers are going to sit down for two freaking hours with content creators and answer 100 community questions some which they go into great depth. They are transparent and honest. If they needed more time to look into something they admittedly said they needed more time. There was so much promising feedback that I walked away after listening to that interview with a huge smile on my face.

Some of you guys are unbelievable and its crazy how much of the community is little princess gen z I want everything my way and I want it noooow!

Huge W GGG. One of the best devs out that and I have been very vocal with my criticism.

The orb droprate is balanced around having high rarity, and guts you completely early on, until & unless you invest into it.
This is a problem.
GGG was made aware of this problem.
GGG dismissed this problem.
Better say i dont know then spewing bullshit. They have a lot to do before the release and probably most of what they talked about will be looked at. Just not for now.

The game is working, sure you may not like it, but it's working.

Also, why would you collect data on things that are broken? The mapping system was off, they will fix that and then collect data to see where they're at.

They also play the game and if they like how it is, then you have to deal with it. It's their game, not yours. If you dont like it, there's plenty out there.

The problem is that they didn't even know how Rarity worked, and still defended it.
I didn't get that vibe at all.

Perhaps you went in with a negative outlook from the start?
