The silence is deafening
Also I think GGG doesn't have enough resources to act really fast.
Amount of data and feedback they got is probably 20x bigger than they expected before the launch. 334k people are playing right now on Steam. Game is a huge success but I think we need to be patient and understanding. We want them to act 100% correct and no with rush and chaos. I can agree that they should communicate better, silence for weeks is just bad business decision. |

" Right, defend the company that couldn't hire Q&A team, released a bunch of poe1 reused assets, got free beta testers + sold packs up to 480 dollars. Even Blizzard ain't looking that bad compared to poe2, and i didn't play blizzard games since 2012 |

" I am. What exactly separates Tencent owned GGG from the likes of Blizzard? They have same operating mentality and Diablo 3 might have even been better than poe2 at this point. |

" Tbh has blizzard ever released a patch and then when radio silent because it's the holidays? say what you want but they have standards They released a game and only 8 days after release they depart from the office for 21 days. oh and they had no problem taking peoples 500 usd "supporter packs" while they sip egg nog while people get hacked and economy is destroyed. so yeah blizzard is looking good |

" Clearly frustrated, but makes some valid points. * Developers are people and do need to take time off. * It doesn't take an entire dev team to put up some posts and I highly doubt the entire company just shut down. * GGG choose to release this around Christmas time, not the players. You should have expected issues and seen this coming. It was bad planning to not have had something in place to address this ahead of time. * It would have been nice to hear something. It is Christmas, and the devs need time off. We don't need a full road plan, but a little bit would have gone a long way. * There are a lot of problems with this game. * It should be expected that there will be drop off with any ea, but this is a known property and you did release a pretty much finished end-game. Drop-off would be expected if people simply finished the game, but that isn't the case here. * There was clear hype, but people are clearly leaving because they don't like what they found What is confusing is that I think many of us are right there on the edge of wanting to support this thing, but GGG holds their ground on the things gating people from this game, even though there are perfectly good alternatives. I am one of them. I am willing to give you money, if you just utilize the framework you have already set up. Examples... Why do you even bother having leagues if the following are going to be present in all of them * use death penalties * restrict access to currency so people can't buy good gear unless they make PoE a full-time job * create a trading system that can bypass those restrictions, but don't incorporate it into the game * advocate build diversity, but have ritual, delirium and breach mobs micro stun and kill you in 2 seconds I don't need answers right away, but I will not come back if I don't get answers at some point in 2025 about what this game is supposed to be. Because right now it feels like a grinding Souls game when I got the impression you were expanding it and making it more accessible. And I'm tired of being gaslit by the core base saying "get good" or "just play more". Yeah, I'm good with all those things, but, again, there is a middle ground between 1000+ hours and play 1 hour a week casual, and all we get from GGG is crumbs. It doesn't have to be right this second, Dev's 100% deserve a holiday because they are real people. A lot of people are waiting to hear if this game is a worthwhile investment of their time, however, and at a certain point it will become downright disrespectful if we don't hear anything when people had the expectation that this was an opportunity to open the door for more players. " I can't really disagree on that. blizzard products might be shallow but yeah, the lack of communication here ''cuz vacation'' sounds just arrogance. no one is asking for a huge patch mid vacation or anything. but complete silence after paying so much ADS and youtube promotion is just weird. |

" ... correct? which is why I don't think they've been cooking up a banger update, I think they're on vacation (and that's fine honestly). I was responding to someone who made the claim that they've mostly been in office working on a big update, I'm just saying if that were true they could have given us any indication of what they are working on. Either they are on vacation and not working on an update because they don't have the staff to collate the feedback and come up with an action plan which is very understandable (even if I think it was a bad choice), or they're working on a secret update without saying anything (hard to program in the updates if there's no actual plan for what that update is... if there's a plan let us know) then that's a truly odd choice for them to make. |
