To OP grats finding citadel, sorry to see you didnt get it.

Reason i started moving away from bosses after kill. I just dont trust GGG anymore. Too many on death explosions or mechanics happening few seconds later. This has to be removed. On second note i havent found any citadels yet. Closing to 400 atlas map nodes discovered so far. I already leveled 3rd toon to 90+ level because once i find all 3 citadels AND i dont die on first attempt (not possible) then all my toons are well overgeared many times before doing monolith boss first time.

Its kinda sad and funny, you play so long that i dont see gear improvements until i can fight pinnacle boss first time :D

GGG take a note fix the citadels appearance system as we cant reset atlas map

When you get into the top of the tower, the area that you click on the thingy to activate the tower, you will find corpses scatter around. One or more of these corpses will have a distinct object near its head. The direction of the corpse that has that special distinct object is the clue on the direction of where the next tower that will have another clue on the corpse.


Interesting theory. I did think a little while back that maybe there was something about all the corpses, just didn't really look at it much.

This has already been debunked that corpses mean nothing. They change position if you redo failed tower again. Kinda sad people still post this crap. There is nothing player can do regarding citadels, they are rendered as you enter atlas map and RNG god hands if you got lucky or not.

When I get back online I'll try and fail some to confirm for myself.

I highly doubt they generate the entire atlas on creation, seeing as it's supposed to be endless. It's more likely that a radius is defined (much covered by fog) and more gets generated as you spread out or use towers. This would give some weight to the T15 tower concept, it might not be the exact radius of that tower but it could be a weighting factor in the next chunk that gets generated a little further out.

Edit: Did the same tower 3 times, corpses changed each time. There was one corpse that stayed the same in each attempt, and it did happen to point at a citadel but I saw nothing different about that corpse that would identify it as special.

Still havent even seen a citadel yet and im almost lvl 90 lol
People need to stop saying their entire /played as if it’s how long they have been looking for a citadel.

A rage thread just closed of somone saying the same thing. It doesn’t take 200 , a week, 400, or even 3000 hours

Yeah gateing endgame bosses behind RNG is complete garbage, that stuff started with 3.24 in poe1 gateing boss fragments behind random dropping T17 maps.

That seems to be the new direction, hopefully it'll change fundamentally but i'm "worried" it'l stay rng based with just increased spawn rates, also worried stuff like that carries over to poe1 even more
