Absolute BS

So, I find my first citadel after what feels like 3000 hours in the atlas. I've been in the atlas since the 3rd day of EA. So, I put a white T15 into the copper citadel. It's the dreadnought, and I fight and kill Jamanra taking little to no dmg during the whole fight. Then upon him dying I get killed by an untelegraphed and unexpected on death effect. One tapped. I'm not the tankiest char out there, but 3.1k ES on invoker Monk w/15K evasion and mitigation w/ protect me from harm; windancer and ghostshrouds. Am I going to have to play for another 250 hours to see another citadel to get the key I should have gotten this time? This is completely ridicuous. Please review your endgame GGG, as it stands I'm so mad I may not log back in again

You're gonna expect it next time. I don't see the problem here. You are gonna be playing this masterpiece for the rest of your life anyway.

You are whats wrong this community. So, it's acceptable to you to farm for 200 hours at a time to find a citadel, then die to an invisible attack? Go take your **** elsewhere. You can enjoy what you like. Don't throw your unwanted and ridiculous opinions where they are not wanted. It is obviously an issue that needs addressing.

getting killed by something invisible or hidden under the map completed pop-up is just shit and only exists to piss off people.
You don't touch the stove until it has cooled down.

Take Deadly Evolution off your atlas tree.
If its untelegraphed it sounds like you had a rather unfortunate bug. Almost all the on death effects have a full second of wind up to give you GTFO potential (dodge rolling after killing a rare/boss is now second nature to me for this reason). Not that it doesn't suck when you don't see it because of the walls or bugs, of course.

But yeah, haven't even found my first citadel yet. It does sound like their spawns are a bit too RNGy at the moment.

Players still haven't fully worked out how they spawn (it could be pure RNG, but that is not really GGG style for these types of things).

The two leading theories that I'm aware of are:

1. More likely to (or can only) spawn near water.

2. Using higher tier (T15) maps on towers affects what is revealed, giving increase chance to find citadels.

I'm not sure, I've been using T15 maps (crap ones that are bricked normally) and found 5 citadels without actually trying for them. I believe all but 1 of those 5 have been very close to water.
